Hi...will be in DC area for a week or 2... Wondering where the decent pool halls are and if there are any weekly tournaments? Thanks.

Right in city I found it's not so hot. But if you go about 20 to 40 minutes south and west, into northern virginia, there are some good choices. Not sure if you have the time... try this thread for suggestions:

If you like diamond tables, First Break in Sterling is fantastic. Every so often a pro will show up and several strong B+ or A players. Nonsmoking. More serious atmosphere. I believe there's a 9 ball tournament every Thursday.
Otherwise, I also like Breakers in Centerville. Great recently refelted gold crowns, young somewhat clubby atmosphere... more smoke, noise and girls.
In Springfield, which is only 20ish minutes away, Q-ball has the best maintained equipment and is a little less loud than Breakers, but still a young crowd. My personal favorite. Not really any action though, nor tournaments.
2 other halls in Springfield, Fast Eddies has so-so equipment but seems to have regular action, a few 1p games, and also occasional visits from pros, saw Mike Davis there recently. There's a Hard Times in the area too honestly nothing much to recommend it.

Breakers is in Herndon, VA.
The tables @Springfield Fast Eddies have been redone or are in the process of being redone by our local master mechanic, John Burns (AZBro Scruffy1).
And what the hell is Rexton?! Oh...you mean Reston. First Break and Breakers are both very near...as am I.

oops, good catch, herndon not centerville. I always pass through centerville on the way so way so my brain just thinks of it as "northern centerville" lol.
I saw two tables with new cloth at FE springfield, that's great news. Send him down to fairfax. They did two tables and then just sort of stopped entirely. And whoever did those two left some bad rolls.
Black-balled, we should meet up sometime. Who knows, we may have already bumped into each other.
I don't make it up to New England very often. I actually have been to Olde England more often.
Good ol' Centreville, Virginia. My Aunt Effie had a consignment shop right on Route 7 called "Family Bargain Center."
As I recall, there used to be a place called Fox Lounge or something like that. Bar table action.
