BCAPL/ AZBilliard table?

I'm going to the BCAPL in July at the Rio. I've heard that there will be about 50-60 more tables than normal? If so, does anybody here have enough pull to designate a half dozen tables for just AZBilliards players?
It would be interesting to put faces and personalities to all the forum peeps.

Chris,

Think Mr. Griffin might be able to make this happen. Even if they are "quarter" tables like at SBE. Even if it's one night only each week of the event. Perhaps Jerry or Mike can influence Mark to make a couple of tables available. If not, there are several AZ vendors who might be willing to host us at their booths. Do I see an AZ challenge sign up sheet in our future? Perhaps a race to three for the first beers? Most of us will need that extra aiming juice before we get to playing the main events. Great idea.

One year there was an Az Billiards room. I enjoyed meeting most of the people there :(:grin: Just kidding it was fun to shoot and meet with other people that you "know" online

Chris...I don't see that happening. Whenever there have been tables in an "AZ" room/area, they have been paid for by donations from those Az members that plan on playing on them. Like Frank said, there was an AZ room, with two tables, at the BCAPL when it was at the Riv, but not enough people participated to do much. Helfert tried to organise a tournament, but it didn't come off.

Like at the DCC, you 'might' get two tables, but never 6. Then you'd have to rent a room for them, because otherwise you couldn't keep people off of them, that weren't supposed to be playing on them. Mark Griffin would be the man to talk to about this.

BTW, weren't you going to call me last Sunday? Give me a call when you get the chance! :D

Hey Scott,

Glad I finally called ya, I'll look you up in Vegas.

Maybe we can get Mark to put up a sign in a corner of one of the ball rooms? It would be nice to put faces with some of the names on this forum site.

This is a great idea! I have had the pleasure of playing with Jaden a couple of times this weekend and really enjoyed it!

If I am not in the tournament playing I would be in an AZ room! gotta do something to keep my no playing butt off the poker tables! ;)

I'm planning to be there on the 18th. I wanted to be there on the 16th to play 9_ball but my wife won't be back in time.

We should be able to set up some kind of AZ meet & greet.

But someone will have to help coordinate it.

We can provide some tables for a social tournament.
It will all have to be on 7' tables.

Someone just has to get the ball rolloing and pick a date & time.

The best day would be Tuesday (23rd) afternoon/evening because the singles are pretty much over and the teams don't start until Wed AM.

Be careful we don't interfer with the Challenge the Stars - which 'might' be on Tuesday PM.

Start getting names etc. and we can tighten up the time frame later.

That would be great Mark.......sign me up.
I'm sure I'll be floating around the Rio.....shouldn't be too hard to find a couple tables to hang out on.

Just let me know if there are any limits which need to be applied Mark.

Create an account here or you can sign in to this site with Facebook and then sign up for the tournament.

p.s. First time to use this site to host a sign up page...we'll see how it goes

Okie,

I signed up on the website but couldn't see a way to sign up. I sent you a PM on Challonge.

I'm hoping to be out there by Thurs, 18th for Scotch doubles depending on my partner. If not, I will be there on Friday to prepare for the Open single and then team

I was just rolling with the date Mark gave (23rd) btw

This link doesn't take you to a sign up page?

I can add manually but that could get interesting depending on the numbers. :)

Let me know about this link, please.

Ken

Yes, that link worked:thumbup:
When I went to the AZB tournament page there was no link there to signup

I understand this is a LONG way off but go ahead and sign up. The way I will have this setup it will be very easy to remove you if something comes up. In fact I expect quite a few will not show up after signing up. It's Vegas! Something might peak your interest over hanging out with a bunch of internet pool champions! :D

I have met a few guys from here and it has always been a positive thing. Conversation usually starts a little slow but once we hit a topic it gets good quick!
