I would be interested too.....
Maybe someone that has bloxygen will split it up?

I need some super soon too....
Got 4 to finish before Vnea!!!!

This thread is one of the main reasons I love the cues section :)

I'll check my supply when I get a chance. I had plenty extra until last week when my refrigerator quit. My boy set it outside the door but it still had all of the Axon and some other good stuff in it. Later, I checked on the fridge and went to my back room to get a dolly and a box and by the time that I got back someone had taken the fridge and it's contents. I talked to someone whom knew who had taken it and he got back 3 of the cans of hardener for me but I don't know how i'm fixed with the resin.

I've talked to Mr. Chew at Axon a number of times and he told me that the resin ("B", the green material) never goes bad so needs not be refrigerated but the catalyst, "A" is the culprit. I always keep that in the refrigerator and I keep the small amount that I use in a small container that I use for everyday use (a clear empty, plastic mustard/ketchup container that I get from Walmart for less than a dollar). I just squirt the amount that I need into a mixing cup and as soon as I'm through I blow some of the Bloxygen through the spout before putting the cap back on. This has worked well so far.

The really bad part about ordering the Koa wood insulator from Axon is that a gallon of A and a gallon of B still doesn't meet their minimum. The last time I ordered the stuff I got some guys together to split it all up. I got 2 gallons of each but then 3 of the people backed out so I was left with 5 quarts of each to many. So much for depending on others to help splitting it all up. Another cost is the shipping as the stuff has to be shipped haz/mat.

Let me know,
I am totally reliable to pay my end :)

Thanks Royce
Does everyone spray?
I use a foam brush for everything

Darcy,

You may be able to get by brushing on the clear, but definitely not the insulator.

I'd be afraid that you would get the clear too thick anyway. That will make it crack later in life.

The insulator is real thin, so we usually put on a dust coat that dries almost immediately. Then a second that starts to look wet. Then a third, and finally a fourth if it need sit. The goal really is to seal more than put on a layer of the insulator. We also put gel on pretty much everything. It's just part of our process and keeps the number of clear coats down. It reduces the sanding a ton too.

I think Axon has reduced the minimum to $250 for the insulator. Call and ask for Tonja. She's a real southern sweetheart and will take good care of you.

Thanks again Royce.
Do you start with the Isolater?
Then lay down a thin gel coat?
Then clear?

I guess I can get another cheap jam gun for the Isolater, I just suck at shooting :)
I will call on Monday if no body wants to volunteer to split an order :)

Darcy,

Yes, the insulator is always the first thing. It seals, and creates the proper substrate for any of the UV products. I would use it for auto clear too.

Next, we throw on a coat of the gel. We use a block to even it out while it's spinning, and then squeegee to level and thin it out. Then run it through the light and it's done.

We rough it up for the clear coats, and start spraying and cooking. We can cook 3 at a time, so it goes pretty fast. With 1 man working it, he can finish a lot of cues in a day. With 2, it gets really quick.

I'm going to call soon
Anyone want to split an order?
It would be nice if someone stateside would take delivery and split it up,
Shipping to me in Canada and back to the us would be a small fortune I'm sure

I'm talking about the insulator from axon by the way :)

Woo hoo
First time order waives the min order!
Which is 500.00 by the way!
Picked up a quart of the insulator and a quart of the gel fill :)

Who did you talk to as far as the insulator? The Insulator comes in 2 parts, A and B. One is no good without the other. They come in both quarts and gallons so you should be sure you ordered both which would be 2 quarts. The gel is pretty good stuff also for filling coarse grain and such.

I ordered a quart of each(both parts of the insulator)
I think that should last a while :)

Hey Darcy, let me know when you have it all figured out, then I can send mine to your place to get finished:)

Yes, it takes very little. The stuff is truly wonderful, especially for oily woods such as cocobolo. Joey posted once that he had a problem with it when using it under some other finish than UV. I usually let it dry for an hour or so before covering with UV. Mr. Chew told me that if I let it cure for longer than 6 hours it would need to be scuffed for good adhesion of the UV.

Be sure to get yourself a can of Bloxygen so as to prolong the shelf life of the catalyst.

+/- 4000
But if it works as I hope,
It will be worth it
I'm all about time saving :)

 Wow !!! You know what kind of goodies you could've bought for that new Camaro with 4K,LOL.

I hope it turns out great for you, I know you've done alot of research on it.

Lol
I've been told no more goodies for the car :)
Tinted the windows and did a CAI

Uv should be wicked cool!
