How about this shot by Alcano ?

Great shot. When he gets down to line up the shot he's checking to see if he has enough room to cut the ball, which is what he did (in other words, he didn't go rail first.).

Difference between C player (me) and Alcano, I would play safe 99% of the time. For me it was a risky shot.

He cut it straight in, but it looked like the CB double kissed it off the rail on the way back which is what gave him the perfect shape. If you replay it and listen, you can hear the the "click click" from the double kiss. Either way, amazing shot..he probably played it that way know how creative Ronnie is ;)

Not in a million years would I probably even consider that shot, but he cuts it in like it ain't nothing. Sometimes those guys just play a game with which I am not familiar.

Was it even possible to shoot that shot and get that shape?

I'm going with the double-kiss off the rail...no way I would have ever even attempted that shot...it's a 10% shot for me, and a 90% safe...

It's not a kick, it's not a double kiss, it's just a straight shot to the corner. It's a good shot, but not anything amazing. It's an open shot to that pocket. I guess I just don't understand all the amazement about it.

He had to hit it so thin that I could imagine the CB coming off the rail and into the OB before the OB got anywhere. It reminds me of that trick shot where the OB is a little further from the rail and the CB goes around the OB and into the pocket before the OB gets there.

I'm with you on this.Maybe its my erratic shape play but I've had to do
that shot plenty of times. Its a nice long pot,but nothing amazing. It
might of been just a visual thing cause it looked good but not difficult,
specially for a guy like Ronnie.

It's not that amazing...but what's amazing is where the cueball ended up...cutting it that thin, the cueball had so much forward direction and momentum, I can't see how you'd draw it back enough like that without having double-kissed the object ball after the rail...???

It seems like whenever you shoot that shot, you're always worried about the scratch into the same corner...which is the reason for the draw.

All it takes is some right hand draw. And, not much at that. Now, if you move the ob off the rail more, then you may need a little more.

The closeness of the rail made it possible...thats it .

Not very hard to do either one. Unless your playing Mr Morris

he cut it to the pocket he had, there was nothing special about that shot, it was the only pocket it played straight into, granted its a tuff shot, its far from amazing, he hit a pretty full ball, and wasnt far from his work. It aint easy but nothing fancy either, good shot. it wasnt thin at all, he hit 1/3 of the OB or more, look atthe angle of the shot, ignore the rails-its a optical illusion.

Folks, look at the path of the CB. How can anyone say it was a straight cut shot by looking at where the CB went after impact with the OB?

I'm not sure if it was a kick shot or a double-kiss, but one thing is certain. The CB hit the OB after hitting the rail. So it was anything but a straight cut shot.

Try it, and you will know.
