"C" Player uses "Feel" to beat the ghost 9-1

This may or may not help John's argument. This video is one of me 3 months ago. You can clearly tell my stroke is far from perfect.

I recently changed my stance and fundamentals to get down lower on the shot. It's what I would define as a modified snooker stance, and I use the term "snooker stance", very loosely. In fact, the only true comparison is that I have 4 points of contact (grip hand, chest, chin, and bridge hand).

I have literally only adopted these changes last week, and have put about 20 hours in with them. I'm uploading a video recorded today, and will post as soon as it's done. Then you guys can compare the two and let me know if you think the stroke and fundamentals are improved.

In the meantime, here's the first video from 3 months ago.

Love how the waitress just comes right up to the table with no thought or care whatsoever about what you are doing on it.

A waste of money?

All the info is online for free. All of it. You can pay $15 and see a well made video illustrating exactly what SVB is doing when he aims... or you can figure out some things on your own for free on the internet. Either way, free isn't a waste of money because, it's free... and $15 is $15 and if you cannot afford $15, maybe you should quit playing pool and look for a new job.

Watching Nicks video, it's hard to tell if he's actually a C player or not because everything is so easy. Not to knock you, if this is good for you... cool. But I'm also a well documented C player and a 4 ball out with BIH is automatic. Well, you won 9-1, so it's pretty automatic for you too... a D player would struggle with this, you seemed to do fine. It's hard to really mess up with 4 balls, it doesnt give you enough time to get out of line.

When I practice, it's with the 6ball ghost. I break and take BIH. I rarely make a ball on the break, so I have to normally run 6balls... and I don't break up any clusters before hand, so it's pretty tough for me. I've beat it in a race but never in an ahead set.

I don't care what means to an end you use to pocket a ball, but I can say I went from a bad D player to a good C+ in less than a year using systems. I started with 90/90 and moved to Shane's shaft system. I feel I have pretty good odds of pocketing any normal shot on a table unless I have to do something fancy with the cueball. Just saying, it's helped me.

Remember, it's only been a week since switching to this stroke.

I will try to bear your advice in mind.

What helps the stroke, as you have said, is looking at the CB last to make sure that you hit it where you wanted.

This works for me.

Not a single snooker player who has ever lived has ever looked at the CB last. CJ is free to educate the snooker world with his methods and secrets.

Lol. Some great stuff by Barton in recent posts. Methinks his recent feat of running 9.75 racks of 4 ball has gone to his head...

That's not even a feat worth mentioning really. I am embarrassed that it took me more than ten minutes to do it.

But I ran 11, :-)

Do you know why?

Yes. They twitch. It can't have escaped your notice that hitting the CB cleanly is priority numero uno in cuesports. It is also the most difficult.

Which is it?

It's a bit difficult to answer that as I have no idea what you are on about. My position on aiming is simple: if you you're still struggling with aiming after 6 months, go find something else to do, for cuesports are not for you.

Fixing chicken wings take a lot longer to crack, however. That also requires will.

What I see:
1. VERY NICE STROKE (I like the smooth swing)
2. The position is something y o u should work at. (The legs are way too spread)
3. The aiming by placing the tip in the exact point you want to hit the cb also helps
4. Increase the number of balls after 5 succesfull racks (5 6 no more for now)
5. Looking at cb before shot will distract you. With your stroke you aim the point on the cb in the first 2 preshot swings. Last look shoot be on the ob.

Hope this will help. You do shoot good. Keep it up!
