That's right. It wasn't good enough.

For who, you? Do you speak for EVERYONE on AZ, or just yourself?

If you don't want to answer the questions then don't. No one is forcing you to participate in this thread.

And NO ONE put you in charge of this thread either, except you. So if you don't want to do business with me, then don't, I don't really care...about people like you! People like you will always have big noses, and always stick them into other peoples affairs, that's just the kind of person you are...and I understand you can't help it. So my sugestion is to contact every pool and billiard web-site, and every magazine and spread the word as you see fit, I don't really care...as I've already said.

Glen

This thread was started out of spite, and I'm sure the situation wasn't ideal, but posting "RIP OFF REPORT" about a guy that has been in business for 30+ years, who is still in high demand, just seems silly and a bad way to get done what you want done.
He waited two months with minimal to no communication. Now I know because its the billiard world a two month missed deadline is sometimes excused, even the lack of communication as well.

But if you put this situation up against any other business it wouldn't have legs.

If Glen were a plumber and picked up your toilet and master bathroom plumbing with a promise to return in 30 days only to turn into 3 months without a clear concise response. I'm pretty sure if you knew of a forum where that plumber frequents you'd go looking for him.

Just put this situation in any other trade and there isn't a consumer out there that would be happy.

While you're at it, look through this tread as well, I think you'll see I'm not a PLUMBER!! and won't be lacking for work if I want it!!

Well, I'll tell you what...write what ever kind of review you want, and sell it to who ever you can...OK?
Well I tell you what. I'll give you 3 out of 10 Jalapeno's if you return the guys rails and his money.

5 out of 10 Jalapeno's if you return them finished as you originally agreed.

Sounds like a fair review.

The real question is how would you rate yourself on this transaction with this customer?

What you seem to fail to understand, is that I'm NOT a company, NOT a business....I'm a billiard technician...my trade is my business, and I don't compete against other businesses anywhere, because what I do...they CAN'T.

What you give me for a rating means nothing to me, and how I rate myself is that I failed a customer, but I can't take it back, as the deal is already done, and I had no intentions of keeping his money or his rails, as I've already stated....you should have read that somewhere in my threads.

So you're not a DBA? You're doing all this work for cash on the side? You're a business are you not?

I don't dispute that you cater to a niche market. But you are doing business with people.

You said you're not employed so I assume you're self employed.

Once again I and I don't think anyone else here has ever questioned your work.

OH yes they have, everytime they said I'd be out of business if I had to rely on them to be my customers, only they don't understand...they would never be my customers in the first place!!

I don't think you had any intentions of ripping him off.

Glen - after years of interaction with Bishop in NPR I will tell you that it is best for you to just ignore him on this.......really. I know it can be tough.....but it and he in particular just are not worth it.

Yes, I'm a "DBA" and have been for the last 30 years, but what is a "business" if it's just yourself? as I'm not sellable, not tradeable, have no debts, no credit cards, no place that I live, and yes I do get a 1099 from Diamond ever year as such, consultant!

So, really...what makes a "ONE" man show....a business?...a tax ID number?...LOL if that be the case, what kind of price tag would you place on a business that has NOTHING to sell?...so, is it really a business?

There are many people who go out of business for reasons other than the product.

Restaurants are a great example. I've seen places go under for bad service, poor quality control but actually had great food.

I haven't read all your reviews but if they're people who think you'll be out of business its because of the way you deal with people not the quality of your work.

I have yet to read anything where someone has questioned your work. Read plenty about how you treat the customer though.

Those things do matter and have put people out of business.

Yeah its a business. Its a DBA.

You offer a service in the trade world. You're selling your skill. Just like any electrician, plumber or a million other trade jobs.

You're absolutely a business.

Well, you don't have to worry about that with me, trust me. The only way I could go out of business is if I quit, or died...but in the case of the latter....who would get my business in the end?...think about that for a second? I also collect royalities off some of my other involvements, but don't need the money from them...so what does that tell you?;)

Let me tell you something buddy, a tax ID number is just that...where to send the taxes to, as it WON'T keep you employed, that is something you have to work on...on your own. I've see to many business open, then close. Just because you own a business don't mean you're going to be making it just fine the rest of your life. You have to work it, as I have done, or it won't last, and my "business" will last until the day I call it quits, I guarantee you that...so, are you done trying to explain the finer points of owning a "business" to me, or is there something else I should know more about?

I know you think highly of yourself but you're not the only one who does what you do. I think you're talented but like anyone else with a talent there will always be others.

I think you did a great job creating a market where one didn't prior exist. There's a reason others don't duplicate, its a big sacrifice. Also most local markets don't demand it. At least not the precision installations you provide. There's no shortage of recovering and installation work but most bars and consumers aren't looking for your kind of installation.

I don't remember the exact statistic but somewhere around 65% of the pool tables in the home are used for things other than playing pool. Table used to fold laundry was #1 on the list.

My guess is once your done the work will be absorbed by a few good guys working regionally as suggested rather than one superstar living out of his car.
