Lou, if you can't take a little ribbing then don't dish it out. You have made your jabs hundreds of times.

Now you are piling on here. After all that's been said Nathan really needed your golden nugget of wisdom.

Gee, John, thanks for your insight.

Jam.. What you say may be true. But at least it would not come across as arrogant.

And I bet my type statement would have been accepted by more of the so called "haters" then you think.

I am not trying to blow my horn here. I am sure there are many more ways Nathan could have addressed the problem than just mine.

Just my simple minded way of addressing the problem.

And, it's not important what the outliers think. The idea is to speak to the sane majority. That's always your target audience. The clowns will always still be out there. You don't care about them because... well, clowns are clowns.

Right on

they aint doing a movie on pool anytime soon, they did good with COM and never did another one when the window was open in say 89, now with pool gone, kids on Facebook and video games, would you invest in a pool movie? or say Batman?

Fatboy..

The pool industry had a golden opportunity in 89 or 90 to make a sequel to COM. I can still remember Fast Eddie saying to Vincent at the end of the movie." I'm Back".

But it never happened and here we are.

God forbid anyone in the pool Industry come across as arrogant know it all's. Everyone knows only forum trolls are allowed those privileges.

I know exactly what Nathan is going through. I could feel the frustration in his post. One thing the forum and internet pool aficionados, or any of us really, will ever grasp is just how far reaching TV is over the internet. If Bonus Ball gets on ANY TV network, the entire membership here could all be haters and they would simply rock right on by.

I love the whole concept they are doing minus the "new game" part.... but hey, if that is what motivated them to organize this entire thing, and I think it is, power to them. The only dangerous part, which has been mentioned in other threads, is the refusal to coordinate with the other major events. It's not fair to the players and if BB bites the dust it very well may be the downfall of BB.

What I think would be VERY interesting is if someone now started a team 10 ball league with the same format. Offer the players a salary similar to Bonus Ball to play and see what happens. Competition is what makes it great for the fans AND the players. The same old tournament format will never be considered competition by the players or the ones running BB. A 10 ball team league would.

Ray.. Us trolls as you like to label us are not risking millions of dollars like Nathans backers have seen fit to invest in Bonus Ball.

You don't like what I say, I don't like what you say. No problem.
No financial risk.

Very disheartening to see this and you're right. I can see why Jay is pretty pissed about it...

BTW...here's probably the top of the heap in streaming...I watched some of this live last month, and it went perfectly, from what I saw....

http://www.octoshape.com/ebu-selects-octoshape-for-8th-consecutive-eurovision-song-contest/

I am betting that most of the top providers are well out of the range of Bonus Ball. Dave Segal would know better as do probably all the streamers. The type of companies that cater to large Fortune 500 sized companies start at huge amounts of money for their services.

If the whole budget for BB this season is like 1.5million it might not be enough to cover a day or two of streaming through the big providers. I could be talking out of my ass here and probably am but I'd bet 6 figures or better for less than a day of streaming.

The problem with BB extends beyond just the lack of coordination with the other major pool events.

Let's face it. The game of Bonus Ball is boring. BB incorporates features from other pool games like snooker, 1 pocket, 9-ball and 14.1. However, by combining aspects of the various pool games, BB somehow loses its attraction. It's no longer a fun game to play.

Who here can personally testify that BB is a fun and exciting game to play? Since hardly anyone owns a BB set of balls, the only way most people can partake in the game is buy watching it online. I'm certainly not about to pay for PPV streaming for a sport that even the professionals don't seem to enjoy playing.

Not true. You can easily use four stripes, four solids, and the 8-ball,

Or, if you have two sets of balls: for the purples use two 4-balls and two 12-balls, for the oranges use two 5-balls and two 13-balls, plus an 8-ball.

Or what I think I would like even better is four 1-balls, four 2-balls, and a 3-ball for the bonus ball. That could easily be done in a pool room that has some sets of balls not being used.

Nathan...nothing more reassuring than one of the main guys throwing more fecal matter at the rotary oscillator. Pretty disappointing post...and check my posts I'm never a negative person on here.

Own it ..or don't but don't dodge...it's cheap!

I'm not clear on this one. Why would anyone in casino management want to become involved with this? There is certainly a lot of money involved in casino operations, but I think they have gotten very good at controlling the direction money flows.

And to the extent that Harrah's is involved with pool, it is with a different promoter.

Nathan stated that they had investors & casinos present, and insinuated that we weren't relevent, in our viewing & their streaming - while their seats were not full....

i find it incredible to believe, that they could not, and have yet to-date, fixed the streaming problem - in the largest US city who streams virtually non-stop.

MGM & Harrah's were simply an example, and are my accounts - i know their power & resources in a situation like this....

I played with a friend and great pool supporter, and his friend, the great Rodney Morris and his very kind girlfriend. We played without a set of bonus balls while using the scoreboard app on a computer near the table.

Had a great time, thought it a fantastic game. Only caveat is that it isn't as fun without the scoreboard.
