Not for me of-course :grin::o:(

Guess who's team won the 10-ball Masters league finals..

Yep, my 13 yr old added another trophy to his collection. MA State Jr 9 Ball champion, now a winner with his team. In a few weeks they will be competing for the free Vegas trip with some past winning teams. My wife was joking we'll need a cabinet made to hold his trophies, but at this point, it's not that much of a joke LOL, he picked up 2 just this past month.

The taller boy next to him is the 15-18 age bracket Jr State Champion, their team has both of the Jr State Champions on it.

He has something to be proud of aside from the team win, in the semi final match, they were tied 1-1 in sets, basically best of 3. Alex was playing the decider set, if he lost, they would be eliminated, win and they are in the finals. Came down to a hill-hill game, the guy he was playing had an easy shot before the 10 but miss-played position and came up short on the 10. He played a safe and left the 10 and cueball on opposite long rails. Alex banked in the 10 for the win to advance the team to the finals!

My team.. I never even played, we lost our first match 2-0 and were in the single elimination bracket. Got to sit at the pool room from 11:30 am to about 9:30 pm waiting for my son to finish winning

winning continues!

Congrats to you and your son, may the rolls continue to go you guys way.

Okay, I'll ask since no one else is up to it:

What cue is he using?

What tip?

How does he aim?

Congrats to you, your son and his team!

LOL!

Although I know the answers to these (since he got all 3 from me  ), I will have him type up the answers here when I get home tonight. Maybe I'll do a "Ask a Jr player" thread, he'll have a lot of fun with that.

hey this is alex and first I use a players hxt cue with kamui soft tip. and my method is really looking at the angle and follow the line i guess.

^ by that he means "ghost ball" with no system to aim.

Couldn't resist....

Question 1 - doesn't matter

Question 2 - doesn't matter

Questions 3 - the only one that works, "hit a million balls"

Sorry :)

Congrats, very cool! Memories to last a lifetime.

Congrats !

Congrats to you Alex !! Sounds like you are handling the competition quite well.

To Dad : Did you ever take him to Ivory Billiards to play on that Centennial ??
(Just curious) I think he would really like playing that table.

No, never went over there, but plan to at some point. I was actually planning on stopping by there on my way home from New York a few weeks ago, but that was the day he was playing in the state championship and we were coming back early enough to head there instead.

We will, we should also be watching the TAR podcast so if you say hi to him, he should hear it. I asked Justin if SVB could give Alex a shout out, Shane is his favorite player, he got to play a few games with him at Snookers in RI during one of the Seminole events before Alex won the MA state 9 ball title.

BTW Mark, the USAPL league is great, only league I was interested in playing. Great handicap system and we can use real rules! Called shot 10 ball league, heck even the 9 ball league is called shot but with none of that crap about "you did not mark your pocket so you lose". Roy Pastor does a great job for us in MA supporting the league and especially the junior players. I have a CSI patch on my case :)

CSI an TAR are two of the best things in pool right INMHO, adding in the InsidePool streams and free match library, the other streamers like Bigtruck, and several others.
