The EBay ad says that it will press a tip 9 to 14 cm. That would equal 140 mm.
Maybe I is wrong. Darn metric system.
Hey, maybe press really beeg tips.
1 cm = 10 mm
Something they brought into Canada many years ago and most of us shunned it like we did our French classes.
I can't speak French without the help of Babble Fish either.
Shouldn't say that. I know how to say Corn Flakes in French so I am at least good for breakfast if I ever travel to Quebec.
Just another wonderment here. Before I bought the Picone presses, I made a press from 2 large fender washers. Putting a bolt in the middle and tightening it would tend to skew the washers sideways a bit. The tips would skew a certain amount. Still useable for the most part but not as good as the Picone
that will exert down ward pressure. Once this press hit the tip and you continued to screw it tighter, wonder if the tip wouldn't tend to skew a bit as well.
Not that I would press a lam tip anyway but I wouldn't want any side ways pressure on a lam tip myself.
Re the fender washers, I guess one could have drilled a hole on either side of the washers and used a roll pin or something of that nature to stop the skewing motion.
