Tar 35 Saturday updates Please

Saying this is impressive is an understatement. I am glad Cotton and Jeremy have been vocal in saying that there is a lot more to Shane than just his break. I think that's an unfair criticism that gets leveled too often for a variety of reasons. Anyone who thinks the Shane of 2013 isn't a complete player is deluding themselves.

This is what equine intercourse looks like on a pool table. But if Mike Dechaine thinks he does anything on the pool table "better" than Shane does he is delusional. I mean I understand having confidence in your skills but you're in denial if you think any facet of your game is better.

Mike still feels he's the best;) perfect word,,, delusional!!

Saturday is in the books.

Friday: Shane 35 Dennis 19
Saturday: Shane 35 Dennis 27
Going into Sunday: Shane 70 Dennis 46

The smart money is on Shane!

OK, here on the east coast, it's after 12:30. That means it's bedtime for me. Nighty night.

Strongly disagree. The only edge that guys like Dennis and Alex have over him are defense and kicking. Shane is a very good kicker but not a great kicker. Defense, meaning safety play and the use of two-way shots, is, in my opinion, Shane's weakest feature. His run out skills are, of course, superhuman.

Nonetheless, you are absolutely correct in noting that he's moved quite well in tonight's play.

From what I've seen the last few TAR matches Shane has an edge over his opponents defensively as well as offensively.I suspect his defense will still be underated(by some ) for some time, just like his post-break game has been.

This was the match that everyone wanted to see, with the consensus two best ten ball players in the world. After the first two days I have learned at least one thing....

It's a good thing that TAR's new format pays both players because it's the only way Shane is getting into even action after this.

shane will have tougher action after this id imagine, alex aint been around , has he??

I kind of get tired of the so and so is the best ten ball player in the world comments when there is another whole slew of players on the other side of the planet that haven't been played.

It's clear that Shane is unbelievably strong when his break is dialed in. But him playing in the TAR studio is way different than when he goes on the road and has to fade all sorts of conditions. I mean why hasn't he done better internationally if he is the best player in the world? A lot of reasons surely but one of them is because of the competition level in Asia. Shane is without a doubt one of the top ten players in the world (or would be ranked in the top ten if he played all the time internationally) but until he has played all the top asians he isn't the top player in the world.

Maybe MarsMan should offer up an old school action challenge and back Shane for 20k against the best Taiwan wants to send. I agree though that it is going to be real tough to find TAR action for Shane, unless it's free rolls, after this.

Some VERY valid points John. But... Turn the tables a 180.

Why don't we go east, why don't they go west?
