Strickland vs Jeremy Jones coming up!

You most certainly do come from a different world. A place I'd like to visit just to see what to watch out for..

I have had experienced some hurtful experiences in recent times on this forum from Texas members, and I'll just leave it at that.

Where I come from, though, C.J., we don't threaten people with physical violence because we will get dragged into court, and we don't deliberately, with malice aforethought, call 60-year-old women vulgar names and after the fact state it's only a word. I come from a different world, I guess, but I'd rather live in my world than the alternative.

Well, if this does go to a court of law perhaps you could fetch us all coffee and type up a the court room minutes. But spare us the legal advise from the admin dept. Now get back to your typing..

Thanks for the inquiry asked in a polite manner. :)

If you were to put this question before a jury of their peers, what do you think the answer would be? :D

It could be viewed as a verbal assault without the battery, FWIW. Each State of the Union, however, has their own laws pertaining to this charge, which is a misdemeanor. The verbal assault is the threat of violence, and aggravated assault is a threat with the clear and present ability and willingness to carry it out.

Not sure how to judge what happened between JJ and Earl, but it was a verbal assault. It happens when players get heated up. It shouldn't have happened on camera.

I am. I'm typing in this post to you. :D

BTW, it's "advice" (noun), not "advise," (verb).

Now, don't go deleting all your posts if you get your feelings hurt, okay? :)

Thanks for asking, I take cream and sugar.

I call 60-year-old women vulgar names and after the fact state it's only a word. I come from a different world, I guess, but I'd rather live in my world than the alternative.

Jam, you are right spot on. The same that are "rattled" by Earl's actions had no problem when someone used the most vulgar name against you.

So, lets see. Use a vulgar name against a woman and give them a pass cause it was "only" a word.

But two grown men competing head to head in sports, and we should be shocked and mortified when they jaw at each other, or try to shark one another.....

C'mon ladies, it's pool, not the ballet :) I like to see some intensity while watching sports, be it football, baseball, pool or badminton.....

Exactly, earlier in the match JJ said it kind of low key and no one said anything.

Earl stewed on it and that combined with getting beat caused him to act like the sore loser that he is.

I'm sure JJ regrets his actions. But Earl baited him in.

Point is Earl is defective and Jeremy is not.

For the record, double J talked about going outside way earlier (Daryl Peach did the same thing to Earl) and at the end that's why Earl was saying, "You can't threaten people!"

Not saying that Earl wasn't out of line before that.

OK, so you should have really enjoyed when JJ asked him into the parking lot.

I see nothing wrong with what JJ said, standing up for his team...this whole thread would be about him being a punk for getting repeatedly berated by Earl. Dish it out then be ready to take it. You don't see guys like Kiamco with these issues do you? How many guys ask Efren to go outside? Earl will keep going and going and no one really punishes him so he is comfortable spouting off. I bet he thinks twice before coming at JJ and his boys like that again.

Agree. Just be careful Mikey, JAM is stewing in this thread. So don't get baited in kid..

Referee ?

Is Brett not in control of the match ? I didn't watch yet, but I'd bet a dollar to a dog turd that if Earl was yapping during the match the BB then it was probably settled that they will allow a degree of "reality t.v." to be injected into these broadcasts.

I am surprised that many of you don't get that. As I stated in a thread last week, this is akin to roller derby, but each team needs a lady and perhaps a vertically challenged player as well to round out the potential for viewership.

Now for those who want to see a professional match get Michaela Tabb in there to referee and some contracts that include fines and other penalties. Who knows...maybe DoubleJ will get fined.

Please no pics of dog turds. This is a family forum with several members providing legal advice.

Jeremy Jones was a sore loser and in the wrong. He initiated the entire fiasco.

Of course, people from Texas can do no wrong on AzBilliards, so I'm sure the multiple-identitied members, trolls, and relatives of Jeremy Jones will slam me for my opinion.

Jeremy should have taken the loss like a professional, without discourse in front of the cameras. It only hurts for a little bit when you lose a pool match.

I don't blame Earl one bit for responding the way he did. Jeremy actually asked Earl to go outside. To me, that's a legal offense known as "battery." Jeremy should know better.

LOL

You are obliviously mis-informed. JJ's team won...Earl initiated it all, I was there and witnessed it. JJ was standing up for his team. Earl was talking trash to them, and yes JJ went to far by asking if he wanted to continue outside. But Earl was out of line for most of the match. Even berating some of the fans I was sitting very close to.

POW!

"everyone from Texas?" ....Texas is a BIG state

th

She will find a picture to prove the point just wait.

Thanks for the correction. I only saw the altercation on YouTube and did not see the match, as you did.

From what I saw on YouTube, it appeared that JJ initiated it by asking Earl to go outside.

You know what they say about sticks and stones, but JJ made a verbal threat. That's a no-no. I never saw Earl threaten JJ with physical violence. Of course, we can interpret "going outside" as having a cigarette, right? :)

I believe both of them should have refrained from this type of behavior in front of the cameras, but JJ should have known better than to threaten with those words.

JJ supported his team like a true team captain. You did see Earl's team have his support with his actions right? LOL

Like what?

U are obviously in some sort of legal field and I'm not being sarcastic when I ask this(Cause I'm most definitely from TX and most definitely on the TX team that went to cyber war with u)..Is asking someone to step out side really considered a threat?Obviously if he said he was gonna beat his ass or somethin. But maybe he wanted to step outside to talk..We will never know..

Oh boy

Sorry to add my two cents here, but the reality is that Earl is and has been certifiable for a long time. He prompts and precipitates all these encounters with his own actions. The interesting thing is that it's always involving Earl. Maybe it's just a coincidence though.

Good post from someone who is around the top pro's more than most people on this site.

You may want to visit I just want to know so I never even get 50 miles from it.

Did you see the look on Warren's face? You know that poor guy is saying what have I done. LOL

LOL Love this posting style much better than Hungarian's. The Houston contingency should be proud! :)

I post solo, sans a contingency, but I stand by my thoughts.

that is why you should get the whole story and not just one small clip that got posted.
I love to watch Earl play pool, but he is an A$$$$$HOLE. JJ got sick of it. Should it have gone down like that NO. Do I blame JJ not really. Earl will do far much harm then good when it comes to bonus ball.
