JB stoops to new lows

Jack justice is his god... Jack can say anything or do anything and wrldpro will defend him to the end. Anyone but him can see who the pathetic one is in this post. He's one of these guys that screams buy american!! While driving a ford made in mexico lol If you don't like his cases great be happy with your justice ..move on. Why waste so much anger on it?

T,

Hasn't this thread begun to read like one of several about Bill Stroud?

Lyn

I'm with you. I hesitated a few seconds too long. If we snooze, we lose... I guess.

I wish I snagged the case offered. I saw the post when there was no replies. :(

Let me get through this one and I might decide to do more of them. depends on how I feel. Might be just the ticket to keep me off azb and immersed in making things instead of swatting trolls and stalkers.

So, Watchez case is a Sterling? Was it Made in JB cases shop or Sterlings?

I don't care where the case is Made, as long as the work is top quality. Justis is asseMbled in the US, so what. Justis's interior and case bag is Made in China, so what. Maybe his thread or buckles are also Made in China, who cares? Maybe he uses tools Made in China. Give up the country BS and stick to the quality of work and pricing.

Both case Makers put out a good product. One just costs a lot More Money.

(My lower case M is a h for soMe reason on My phone! lol)

If that was actually true I would of been ordering cases a long time ago.
John, we're friends, but the practice of Sociology 101 on to your following is getting a little old.

That case was NOT made in my shop. It was made by a factory down the road. I did design it though and if they followed my instructions then I don't see how it could have done the damage Watchez claims but on the other hand the case is not made to be immersed in water either. As I said Watchez NEVER mentioned this before this thread, not to me in private, not to Sterling as far as I know. And we have conversed in various threads on other topics.

I am also not entirely sure what the point is anyway. If a Justis case were immersed in water then the water would be in the cavity and the fabric would be around the cue as well.

As for me I am more than willing to test this out with our fabric. I will wrap a piece around a cue tomorrow and put it in a glass of water to see what happens. I doubt it will bleed onto the cue but I will find out.

I sincerely hope that you are not directing this at me. Although I fully agree with you that made in XXX does not and should not matter some folks here make a HUGE deal out of it and USE it to knock me. So of course when they use Jack Justis as their example of American made then of course I have to speak up and remind them that it's 50% Chinese.

I would love more than anything to be able to say that my case is better because of X, Y and Z features without fear that trolls are going to come along and start in with where it's made and other things that have nothing to do with the actual product.

Did anyone cry for It's George when Ron Thomas copied them? Or cry for Fellini when so many case makers copied it? Or cry for Gina who made that style BEFORE Fellini.

Did anyone cry for Meucci who invented the foam core interior when Joe Porper copied it? Or does anyone on thise forum speak up when people are selling blatant Whitten knockoffs?

Nah.

But if it's John Barton going to copy a Justis then the world is ending and they have to pull out every knock they can think of. Other case makers make "Justis-style" cases and no one utters the tiniest peep. Unless of course that maker happens to be in Asia and then it's a crime against humanity. What a joke that concept is.

The double standard displayed is as hilarious as it is sad. I agree it doesn't matter where the product is made, is it good and is the price right?

No, both case makers don't put out a good product. We put out a good product and Justis puts out a so-so product that needs improvement. This video series will show where the improvement is needed and how I decide to improve it while still keeping the costs low enough to put it in the target price range.

I actually am enjoying the time spent on this project and may likely end up actually making more cases. In a way it's grounding me a little to get back to basics.

So I do predict less AZB if my hands are busy cutting leather. :-)

Yes it is a Sterling case. Actually - it was not immersed in water. My cat decided to pee on it - for what reason you would have to ask my cat. I can post pictures tonight of the damaged cue. I just noticed it yesterday because I bought a safe and was transferring all my cues to the safe.

Well, I dont think that I or sterling can be held responsible for cat urine reactions :-) That's something we don't test for and I don't plan to test for.

I am not entirely sure how it would be possible for a cat to pee on a case enough for the liquid to get into the case. I will take a first generation Wave case apart on video tomorrow and show everyone how it's made and you all can judge for yourselves if it's probable that the cat piss could have some how gotten to the cue. If so then it's definitely a new one on me and just another example of the type of crazy accidents that can happen to the case and cues.

And if we agree that it's possible for cat piss to somehow affect the cue I will certainly redesign the interior to account for that and be sure to not that future cases will be safe from cat and dog pee.

In any event before Joe thinks to make you a martyr let's be clear that you have NEVER mentioned it to me prior to this thread. So this is the first time I have heard you had a problem and the only time I have addressed it.

Correct JB - first time mentioned. I can only assume it is from the cat pee and not something else in the case. I am actually upset that the case is now ruined because it was my travel case and with me going to Vega$ next month it puts me in a real bind.
I'll probably have to go to Walmart and see what they have to protect my cues but I am certainly not confident I can find something.

I'm sure you can find a cat somewhere in China to complete your testing.

In response to the USA pride. I AM a proud American and buy American whenever possible. JB lives and works in china and sells his products globally. (John is this correct so far). I would like to think that if john's shop were in, lets say Virginia, that they would be made by Americans.

Jack Justice makes a beautiful case, and I would love to own one. If I did own one, I would put an ultra pad interior in it, and it would be awesome. Some have a problem with this. Do these same people put a predator shaft on their schon cue? Same thing IMO.

John, sign me up for one of the justice replica cases, made by your hands or your staff. Either way it will be a great case and I'm looking forward to owning and using it.

Dude, you still don't get it. I don't care if you copy a walmart special case (though, it would be easy cause that would be just down the street from you ;)

But, it's the "trolling" for Justis that is childish. He insulted you exactly how long ago, and here you are with a stick up your arse still butt hurt about it. Enough already.

Heck, we go to war in NPR, but my god, I don't hold grudges.... heck, as much as The Thaiger "iritates" me, and we've been butting heads for a very long time in NPR, I recently gave him "green rep" for a comment he made..... no grudges... life is too short.

Time to be a big boy and move past it..... just a thought anyways...

I have never been banned for being childish. I have been banned for breaking the rules on namecalling. essentially telling people off using harsher language than allowed.

Truth be told, you've been warned and banned multiple times for breaking every rule in the book.

To describe your actions as "childish" would be a gross understatement. You've described yourself in your Apology letter as being "mean-spirited," which I think is an accurate description of the person you are. For you to describe yourself as a "peaceful person and I don't hold grudges," is a laughable comment at best. You are by far the most vindictive person on this forum.

Even though you've moderated your behavior somewhat, you're still attacking innocent people and subjecting the forum to your rants and tirades.

i dont really think it is a Justis copy, I think it is just a flat out better case...period. You have to understand that most people ranting are probably sour because you are now offering the same style case they got ripped off on and making it better. I do kinda see a hidden agenda in these threads though and that agenda being you pointing out just what a ripoff Justis cases are and that could make folks sour too. As I have stated several times, you could wrap one of your cases in tinfoil and it would still offer better cue protection than any case available...is that level of protection needed?...probably not but I would rather have it available than not. I do think its time to leave Jackie alone though....Happy Ranting!

One thing is for sure, though, there wasn't this place (AZ) back then for people to openly discuss things like this.

Ok. Please remind me after I get this one done.

Don't you know they eat cats in China? Actually I don't think that they do, maybe somewhere. I think I will skip the cat urine testing and just use a water bottle to see if the water can get to the case. Or who knows I might try my own urine and see what happens. Don't ever let it be said that John Barton isn't willing to piss on his own case in the name of protection testing.

Dude, you still don't get it. I don't care if you copy a walmart special case (though, it would be easy cause that would be just down the street from you ;)

I am moving past it in my own way. Once I am done I will have purged everything "Justis" from my soul, answered all critics and trolls' claims and challenges and I guarantee you the ringing cash register will be enough to keep me calm and peaceful.

Truth be told, you've been warned and banned multiple times for breaking every rule in the book.

Really? What tirade? I posted that I would make a case and I am making it. What rants? Did i start this thread? No I didn't.

I am peaceful, generally, and I don't hold grudges with people I have made peace with. If people continue to swing at me then I retaliate. They want to say I can't make a case. Well, I am making a case.

I was mean spirited, now I am simply determined and focused. This is business in the first place and proving a personal point in the second place. Sorry if you don't like it, my life is not yours to control. All you can do is make it a point to harass me but you can't influence my life at all.

And I have not "attacked" a single innocent person since I have been back. Not one. I haven't even really attacked anyone at all. It's really simple, if you want to make claims about what I can't do then don't be surprised when I show you what I can do. I don't see you chastising anyone else. Did you chastise the person who called my wife a $3 Chinese whore? No you didn't. So save your false indignation for someone more gullible.

I will be done with Jack soon in about 10-20 more videos. I will address the issue of copying in tomorrow's video with a little history lesson and comparison between the J.E.F Q Cases (Flowers) that Jack copied to get started and the current Justis cases.

I don't think Justis cases are a ripoff per se. I think that they look nice and carry a certain prestige factor. People pay extra for the pride of ownership all the time. Not everything is a straightforward quality for dollars transaction. If someone wants to own a prestigous brand then they don't really care all that much that brand X is actually a "better" product. You can search the web and find tons of leather goods that are better made than Hermes but none of the small unknown leather shops can dream of getting $25,000 for a handbag no matter how much better it is that the Hermes one.

But if I were the one making the better bag and someone claimed that the Hermes was better than mine then I would certainly take issue with that. Just because something is expensive or has a "name" doesn't mean it's good and certainly not that it's the best.

But yes the agenda is to show that the Justis is a simple case to make, far less work than ours is, and thus to allow the consumers to peek in the shop. Since there are those who claim that Jack's work is the pinnacle in case making they should be proud that I have selected their favorite case maker to emulate. After all, if you're a pool player do you copy Joe Amateur or do you copy Shane Van Boeing on your way to becoming a great player? Shane said he copied Bustamante and Strickland. So as a case maker I am copying who the biggest investor in Justis cases claims is the best.

Hopefully when I am done then people will see a better case using the improvements I build in and maybe some folks will think that our version is better than the original we started with.

I'm not so sure.

One thing is for sure, though, there wasn't this place (AZ) back then for people to openly discuss things like this.

But there is now and no one who condemns me has EVER condemned Ron Thomas for copying It's George and Centennial.

No one ever condemned Schon, Engles, or Bill McDaniel for copying Fellini. Never, since 1997ish that I have been on these forums have I ever seen the "copy police" saya word about that.

Did anyone condemn Justis for making cases in the same look and feel as Jay Flowers' and Dennis Swift? Not to my knowledge they haven't.

Was Porper condemned for copying AVP and New Image and Instroke? Nope.

I could go on and on about this because as you know I have studied the history of case making quite a bit.

So for the past 16 years that I have been on internet forums and through all the thousands of threads on copying I have yet to see any of these case makers taken to task and condemned for their copying. Joe Van Buren you can start now and explain to us all why it's ok for them to have copied but it's not ok for me or anyone else to do it? I am curious to hear the explanation you have. It should be a great one.

By the way, in case people forget, we do a TON of original stuff as well. Show them your case Sean.
