You want it summed up. A few years ago at the SBE there was literally a ban on large dealer cases on the floor unless you were a dealer. Do you know why? A certain dealer that over hear Russ Espiritu trying to make a cue sale and takes the person away from Russ and shows him a cue in his 12x24.
This same "big" time dealer that stocks everything, pumps money into the industry, bla bla bla... can't even afford a booth at the biggest show of the year. Then has the audacity to trunk deal, the very thing he says everyone else is.
We won't even get into stealing internet graphix...

Has nothing to do with it. I have "fired" Roy several times for being a jerk to me. Then we talk it out and it's all good.
You only see things one-sided, I have the luxury of seeing both sides. Or maybe it's a curse because when I KNOW that a person is a good man but with some type of issue that causes them to say the wrong thing sometimes I feel like I have to step up and mention the good side.
Sorry that you take such great offense at that. I really can't stop you from being outraged to the point that you are outraged all I can do is report my own experience and if you think it's ONLY because of Roy being a dealer then you're dead wrong.
But as a dealer Roy is in fact one of the best in the business. That he does so well despite the fact that he is gruff with people is even MORE of a testament to him. If he were sugar sweet to everyone then his business would probably be triple what it is.

Hearsay. Roy hasn't even BEEN to the SBE for years and the last time he was in 2010 he didn't even have any cues with him.
As for your accusation of "stealing" internet graphics stop acting like taking an image with the words South West with a little glow is a big deal. Roy had no idea it was yours and just found a simple little graphic with those words and used it.

When that is completely not how it happened and all it would have taken was a phone call to Roy to let him know and it would have been gone in 2 minutes. And IN FACT once I found out FROM YOU that you had been harboring resentment over this for YEARS I called Roy and it was gone in 2 minutes. Roy would never deliberately take any images from you or any other dealer.
You have a lot of nerve to call Roy a thief when your site was heavily populated with images you took from the "internet" like just about every person on the internet has done from time to time.
But you would rather act like Roy kicked your puppy and strangled your cat rather than pick up the phone and give a person a chance to take care of an issue.
I admit Roy can be an asshole. But he isn't stupid and isn't a thief.
But if you want to act like Roy traumatized you for life then be my guest. While you are complaining about the innocent use of a Cold War-era glow effect font image Roy is selling and expanding his site even more.
One only has to use the internet archive to compare your website with Roy's site to see which of you has been and is more professional. Roy sells more in a week than you do in months I speculate. I'd bet on it if we could have taken any random week and video taped both of you at work. Well, only one of you would have actually been "at work" in the billiard industry, you would have been dabbling in your hobby.
Look it's simply a festival of piling on. For one thing NO ONE here knows if the person who posted the information actually posted the truth. He probably did but the FACT is that you simply don't KNOW it.
Furthermore you have no idea what is going on in Roy's mind or life that would lead him to be unkind to someone. So you guys here see one side and pile on about how awful this is when it's not at all any worse that what happens here every day in public.

Amazing response from Roy at IndyQ. All he had to do was ignore Michael or say thanks anyway. To feel the need to attack him for not wanting to send his cue is borderline crazy. Roy must be massively insecure about himself. He actually tells on himself by reacting that way. Everything he says to Michael actually applies to him, a kingsize asshole himself. And yes I would say that to his face if he ever confronted me. I'm no keyboard warrior.

Yes that would have been the wiser course but you know sometimes people say things in anger that they shouldn't say in the way they said it.
All the keyboard psychology is really funny though. I never knew we had so many trained psychologists and psychiatrists on this forum.
Everyone here sees one side, believes it to be 100% true and then psychoanalyzes the person who is not here.
Innocent until guilty only applies when it's you being accused I guess otherwise it's guilty upon accusation.
What I find funny is that all these "tough" people on here who constantly tell me to suck it up and ignore the "mean" people go completely bonkers about how awful it is when Roy is mean to someone in email. Yet every day on this forum people are meaner to each other and that's totally cool.

(not ragging on you personally Jay, you and me are cool even if we don't fully agree about the BB situation, I think however you know what it's like to stick up for your friends who haven't always acted the "right" way, the other BB comes to mind.)
John, I read the OP and unless Michael is a complete fraud the actions (and words) of Roy are indefensible. You don't have to be a therapist to read and understand that. To talk to someone that way is more than just having a "bad day." It's about being an ASS! To defend someone like that is to contribute to their bad behavior. Yes we are friends and will continue to be, but right is right and wrong is wrong!

What year was this cue made, it should say on the buttcap?
The reason I ask is that I had one of Bill's cues from 1984 (I'm pretty sure of the date) that had gold inlays and I learned the gold material was from his mouth! :thumbup: His dentist removed a gold filling or tooth or something and knew he was a cuemaker so asked if he wanted the material. The cue I had was made for a friend of his in trade for a fancy hand gun I was told (by Bill) and that the gold was indeed from his mouth as his friend asked him to put something personal in the cue.
Bill had said he may have used the material in another cue or two but this was the only one he knew for sure. If your cue was from the same time frame, who knows???? I would look up Bill's contact info, send him a picture and ask him.

The only reason you would be so "over the top" in defending such an ass of a human being is for monetary reasons. It is simply because you have to much to loose if (and when)Roys business finally takes a shit. You show your cards when you come on time and time and time again with the dumb reasons why we should ignore his bad behavior.
