So where is the Bonus Ball annoucement?

I don't see any relevance, any _point_ to repeatedly bringing up that Larry was from Canada. I think it's a safe bet that his business moves are related to profit, not nationalism.

BB is a investment the Canadians are making in vegas, the Co thats listed on the website is a Nevada Co thats 6 or 7 years old. Flying Elephant or something, i dont feel like looking it up now. So its Canadians dropping $$$ in Vegas, whats new about that? people from around the world drop $$ in Vegas and most often the people who collect it dont live there, in this case the players and promoters, i lived there and LA the whole time I was making $ there, nobody stays there who makes $$ that can afford to leave-well a few do stay but its a low %, it sucks there 125 degrees etc.

The thing is Vegas is a easy sell to investors that are none the wiser, it all sounds good. So its a easy sell. time shares are a great example. Doing biz just off the strip sounds appealing and is a easy sell. but it can be like 3 card monte, the red card is there somewhere and just when you think you know where it is-its not.

i hope it all works out,

First it's the Bigfoot and then southern classic and now you're mad they don't buy any ad space on AZ.

You're fishing for reasons to discriminate against them but deep down inside you're mad that they have a ton of great players and because some of them are Canadian.

Pathetic. You're an adult, you do the majority of the whining.

Where are the following billiard products made? Aramith, simonis, majority of production cues. Does Greg Sullivan use strictly only US made products? Every single one? Nuts bolts rubber etc.

With the BCA events coming up, are you going to bash mark griffin for not using aramith this year? Was the new ball made in the US?

I'm bashing BB for one reason and one reason only. They came to the United States and disrespected American promoters who have been promoting pool for years.

That goes for this forum as well. It's been around a long time. The BB minions come on here advertising their product and not one ad banner. It is not right.

It has nothing to do with them being Canadian; it has EVERYTHING to do with their lack of respect and business etiquette.

Again, if they were from the Capathian Mountains, I'd be singing the same song about the Capathian Mountain entity coming to Vegas and setting up shop. So put that in your pipe and smoke on that for a while. Next?

You obviously have NO business sense at all.

If it was any other business, there goal would be to crush the competition. You fail to realize, at the end of the day all of these are doing it to make money.

You think Mark or Greg will ever ask anyone to borrow a 20? Highly ****ing unlikely. They got where they are by MAKING money...... Not giving it away when they have a chance to profit. Now maybe they're at a point in their life where they make less and give back more......

i'm of the opinion they have carefully navigated around AZB and the industry for "Biz" reasons. Nothing to do with $$$, it's much deeper than that. they are very aware of AZB etc and it wasnt a accident they didnt advertise here, perhaps the investors are not aware of AZB, would you want your investors reading this site if you were raising $$$ for BB? I sure wouldn't. "Never wake up a dummy" is whats its called in the investment fund raising biz. Maybe pool isnt BB's main biz? Maybe raising $$ is, I dont know, i'm not involved. Its odd to me they didnt bite me, they know I got $$$ so they didnt bite me for a reason, perhaps cause i might wake up other investors? I only been around 28 years......See what i'm getting at. got to look at teh WHOLE picture not just pool and 40-50 players getting a pittance of a paycheck(after travel and rooms). Maybe i'm giving myself to much credit, but the only people in pool that aint bit me are Matchroom and BB, EVERYONE else has directly or indirectly at one time or another and i'm cool with that, I dont blame them its smart biz.

Just mark this post and someday of i'm right, refer to it.

I hope i'm wrong and it all works out.

I think it's funny that so many BB posts ends with "I hope it all works out." or "I wish them the best." or "I want them to succeed." It's like AZ's version of "Not that there's anything wrong with that." People feel obligated to throw it in there or something.

Well, Mark and Greg don't schedule on top of other events, number one, and, number two, they wouldn't reschedule at the last minute on top of another event.

Sometimes money ain't the end-all/be-all when it comes to an American fractured pool industry. Sometimes business entities work together to help support the industry as a whole.

BB, however, came onto the scene like Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, selling their shtick to whoever would listen. The BB admin threw out a couple hamburgers out there to the broke-dog pro players, and the pro players wanted to believe in the BB vision, so much so that they moved their whole life to Vegas on the promise of a weekly BB hamburger. Now they're stuck out there in the 120-degree heat with no burgers, no crumbs, just a purple room for them to dance in.

you need to borrow $$ to make $$$ in most biz's.

Very rare is there a biz that can get going on its own $$. In my case i'm my own bank, and when I lose I realy lose, when I win I really win. I have been all in several times in my life. Even mature businesses like Diamond could use a cash infusion to expand, if they so desired. This is one of the main reasons we have banks-to service the demand for cash at a profit. thats the cornerstone of our economy when that breaks our economy falters-look at 08 thats what happened there. Credit markets dried up. I was a econ major in college and chemistry at the same time, its remarkable how similar the 2 really are. $$$ and chemicals(analysis).

the Canadian enterprise of BB should have stayed in Canada.

Well then...you leave me no choice...we want William Shatner, Pamela Anderson, Michael J. Fox, Angelina Jolie, SCTV reruns and, of course, the Stanley Cup back (I will leave it to you to explain what you have done to the Chicago Blackhawks). You may keep Jim Carrey.

For your information, young lady, Bonus Ball was invented as another gift to the United States who we look upon as our dear neighbours. It wasn’t always like that. Let me give you some history.

1812 the United States invaded Canada. We sent you packing.....but.....being Canadian and naturally kind hearted by nature.....we felt bad about it. Felt bad, but did nothing.....that is until Michael Naismith took it upon himself to do something nice, a peace offering so to speak. He invented a game called Basket Ball, or BB, as it was called then. It was in 1891 that he invented this game for Americans to enjoy.

It took some time to refine, and, as I understand that the American public did not initially accept this in the spirit that it was offered. It seems some didn’t want this new game, fearing it would conflict with a sport they had recently stolen from China....Bow....Ling.

At any rate, BasketBall, or BB as it was known, was finally given to the American public to enjoy in 1913. To this day I understand that some of you folks still enjoy it......and Bow Ling, now known as Bowling is also popular.

As legend has it Michael Naismith’s was quoted from his deathbed in 1939 as saying, “Those American boys and girls seem to really like my game. I wish that someone else would come up with a similar gift on the 100th anniversary and each 100 years thereafter.

Now, the truth comes out....Bonus Ball is our 100th anniversary gift to you and was only delayed to meet Michael Naismith’s deathbed wish for a 2013 launch.

I hope you will be more supportive of our next gift...the name of which is a secret for now but the initials are.....BB.....and it debuts in 2114. I look forward to discussing it with you then.

Oh, and for your information, all forms of cue sports originated in France and I have it on good authority that they were introduced via Quebec, Canada, to the United States by Winnipegosa Fats.

Its their own fault for moving, would you move without a contract? that was bonded or collateralized? I wouldnt move on someones word. when I moved to Beverly Hills they paid our rent upfront and I still kept my apt in vegas(for a year) just incase things didnt work out. I had not put my life in someone elses hands, to do that is just stupid on top of stupid. I been broke, didnt come from $$ or some privileged back ground so I been there and slept in the car, i realized the reason i was sleeping in the car was 2 reasons first off I wasnt being to smart and 2nd i didnt play good enough. I looked at pool hard and saw the top guys not doing well, so i know i couldnt play my way out of that spot ever. So i had to get smart, so I did. it wasnt free for me and therefore I am critical and not always sympathetic for people in bad spots cause they made dumb decisions, CYA cover your ass is the lesson here.

This post here actually makes the most sense to me about the "why" of it all.

There you go again Eric, making sense of a nonsensical situation.

Some people never learn.
