So where is the Bonus Ball annoucement?

you probably never will see any action with BB, its built as a spectator sport(so far),

if you think about it, how many games do we really gamble on in pool 4 or 5, there are lots of pool games and its possible to make up many more yet only a handful are action games.

In Europe they dont play 1P yet here its THE action game on the west coast, they will never play 1P there as it just dont catch on, they dont get it, its a american game, different cultures have different games.

BB is trying to devlop their own following and that aint us, its people who dont know which end of a cue to chalk-or so they claim. it appears to be that way.

So to not see action with BB in Tunica isnt really a big deal. There was no snooker there or 3C or that Italian carom pins game, etc. There aint bank pool in Ca.

no knock on You chris, your my friend i respect you and your game, but BB just aint pool, its a sport(or so they say)

time will tell it always does....

hope you been well,

take care

eric:smile:

Do you really believe this, Eric? If all the other pocket billiard games can't gain an attraction in mainstream media, do you really think the orange and purple balls is the change agent?

I realize you are being optimistic and want this to succeed for the players' sakes. I'm with you right there and agree, but this Bonus Ball is like "The Emperor's New Clothes." Don't the BB powers-that-be see what we, the pool aficionados of the world, see when we watch the orange and purple balls? I love pool, and I know you do too. It's like changing the baseball game to have eight bases instead of four, but you can run to second base instead of first. You must touch fifth base, however, before you proceed to home plate. Balls hit in left field are an automatic point. :grin-square:

Changing the game isn't what pool needs. I cannot imagine my Aunt Effie or Uncle Chester getting excited about watching BB.

Another big reason not to match up at it would be that Lee Brett wasn't there.

Hardly any of them would be confident enough with the rules to match up and risk an argument at this juncture.

I finally feel like I fully understand the rules after watching every single match to date and having played it so much.

me and Daz not seen eye to eye in the past, but this we do 100% Darren puts it perfectly, this game is a great game.. Everyone needs to support us and help us have a chance to succeed.

Some of us are not in a great position financially right now, but we are all supporting the game and working together to make it a success.

I think that you and the players do have support. No worries there!

In tunica I did not see 1 person gamble or play this game

To be fair, a few players who had matches the next weekend were practicing during the last day of Ultimate 10-Ball. That includes Ralf, and Thorsten.

They were mostly discussing strategy and trying out stuff.

That said, in my opinion, IPT's bet of choosing 8-Ball was a much, much better one than coming up with a new set of balls, new rules etc...

Even if these rules make a lot of sense to the players, they are not the audience. Making the game tougher for the pros and making a game formatted for TV are two different things.

Which is exactly why the Mosconi Cup will never be played with 10-Ball call-shot.

I did find interesting part to watching BB, but then again I enjoy a 150 run in straight pool. Not sure I'm the best target audience to judge

Your prolly right
Just fig if so many pros love this game
They would match up at it

im not busting your balls, but when was the last time we saw pros match up? that wasnt a exhibition ? seems to me its been a while.

i get what your saying tho.
they are pitching it as the "Game"
actually there is some good tactical shots in it, and free shots like in 1P, i perfer 1P much more tho.

glad you made it to Tunica, i knew your were 50/50, when i see u i'll tell u why i couldnt go, six. be glad you have your health. hope to see you soon, hello to your bro for me please.

take care buddy, and i'll take 23 points to 30 if you want to play some $5/game BB:wink::wink: ok 20 i'm mad at my $$$.:p

Interesting Beaver fact.

Strawberry flavoring is the excretion from the anal glands of Beavers.

So, if you have a bowl of vanilla ice cream, thats all you have to do is put a spoonful in your mouth and then lick a beavers butt. Instant Strawberry.

She mite not always be right, but take it easy on her, after all she is a LADY!

PS Jam will speak her mind and i dont know about you, but i love a lady like that!

She gets a free pass on AZ because of her gender?

Absolutely nothing wrong with speaking your mind. This is a message board.
But, if you disagree with Jam and don't flower her posts, she stomps her feet much the same as a Sharp Tail Grouse mating dance and brands you a troll.

I like a woman who isn't afraid to speak her mind also. But, there is a reason as to why she gets jumped so much.

Its not as if we picked her out and decided to be a bunch of misogynistic bastards.

For those of you that would like to see a Sharpy stomping their feet.

your right, 1000% right on the money!!! if your selling pool.

BB is selling a sport. Thats my understanding so they clearly dont want to be confused with pool. thats what it is starting to look like to me.

great work the new software is so nice!!!!!

It's another day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Would you be mine? Could you be mine? :D

i dont think they want us, they have avoided us, read your PM and think about what I wrote you. Getting pool involved would undermine their whole thing , we the people of pool are a risk to them-in some ways and too small of a audience to matter anyway so were double trouble.

and yes i want nothing but the best for the players, unless i'm playing a player then i want nothing but the worst for them during the match:wink:

i got to ZZZ

only if i can get me one of those yellow sweaters......and a mailman on meth lol....

I'm going to make a prediction here.

It might not happen right now, but I am predicting a sale of bonus ball and the new owners of it will succeed.

I have rock solid information that Stanley Ho has purchased Bonus Ball and replaced Larry with Kevin Trudeau as the Commissioner of the league with a ten year contract.

The new league will be called Ho Balls.

.would this be fair?

This.

I arrived in Tunica on Thursday afternoon and personally sat down and watched Thorsten and Ralf using 4 solids, 4 stripes and the 8-ball to simulate BB. After a few minutes, I called out to Thorsten and asked him if they were going over BB strategy (they were speaking in German to each other). He said yes.

I proceeded to congratulate Hohmann on his 60 point run from a few weeks ago and he said thanks. He then told me that Ralf had just ran 58. I told him that both of those were really strong numbers for this game.

Then when Ralf had a second, I called him over to say hi and asked him to sign my case, of which he immediately obliged. I told him that Thorsten had just told me that he ran 58. Ralf corrected the anecdote and said he actually had ran 51. He seemed pretty nice.

I'm pretty on the fence about BB. I don't want it to fail. I'd just rather it be able to seamlessly co-exist with events that Greg, Mark, Justin, Chris Miller, etc. put together.

Nothing earth-shattering to my lil story, but just wanted to give some first-hand info that at least some of the players seemed to take it pretty seriously.

I never saw any players at all gambling on BB in any sort of action match.

I also saw several, several other BB players there for all or at least a majority of the SCT event and observed no one else, save Ralf and Thorsten, play it at all.

I got it. Thanks!

Sweet dreams, Eric.

With all the traveling you do, you should try drinking cherry juice about 20 minutes before you want to sleep. It contains Montmorency tart cherries, which is loaded not only with antioxidants, but it has higher ORAC levels than other popular "super fruit" drinks including pomegranate and acai. In addition, there are beneficial compounds in Montmorency tart cherries that help promote joint health, but the best feature, at least for me, is the natural melatonin.

It is not sweet and tastes great. Ask your doctor about it first, of course! :)

... Needless to say, I'm sure the 3 weeks they will be on hiatus, the players who moved to Vegas won't have an income. ....

The announcement of the hiatus uses the terms "few weeks," "several weeks," and "coming weeks." What's your reason for saying it will be 3 weeks?

No reason. Just semantics. I stand corrected. Few weeks, coming weeks, several weeks, it is. Is that better?
