I guess this is what stuck out the most for me in that press release: With the number of active billiards players declining throughout the globe, our goal at the WPBL has always to been to reinvigorate the sport whose rich history dates back to the 15th century, by adding proven contemporary sporting elements to the game. At present, although numbering in the millions, billiards fans would have a difficult time finding “pool” on traditional broadcast television. Our mission is to create an outstanding production of a cue sport that is exciting to watch, challenging to play and esthetically pleasing to the eye. We believe that by building the first dedicated billiards arena in the world, it is evident that we are committed to advancing the future of the sport through the creation of Bonus Ball as well as the World Professional Billiard League.
Really, Bonus Ball? I mean, really? Come on.
Needless to say, I'm sure the 3 weeks they will be on hiatus, the players who moved to Vegas won't have an income.
Thank goodness for Mark Griffin's CSI events. At least they'll have a chance to make something happen.
Wishing all the best for the players. I think Bonus Ball has exhibited a track record of an insecure foundation. The Pied Piper comes to mind when I think about the players who are stuck in Vegas. Do they actually have any choice? It's kind of either an all for one and one for all, or in the alternative, they abandon ship and have a mutiny.:frown:
I wonder if Lenny's foot still hurts.

I got no reason to lie .. IMO it's the best game I played and once all the players get to learn the rules and watch they mostly agree..
also any of the players are free to walk they was told that today in the meeting
Lets hope next month we be ready to move forward for the better and with a better management team in place it got a chance ..

Bonus Ball needs a lesson in community organizing, and instead, they have chosen to go a totalitarian route. Of course, if I were a player, when BB says "jump," I'd ask how high. I would have loved to have been a little fly on the wall after that BB conference with the players. I'm sure some of them were sick to their stomach. I can't imagine they were happy and looking forward to a secure future with BB.
All of this would have been avoided if they had a sound business plan from the get-go.
I actually feel bad for the players. What choice do they have but to go along with the BB game plan at this juncture?! What a sad day for pool!
To my frustration the score board has been down since the season started. I have been playing it with friends by calling out the score and what color we are on but there is no way we could have gambled at it without that score board.
yup your right on many levels, i'm in Vegas-see you later this week. I'm hip to lots of stuff I won't say in public.

you probably never will see any action with BB, its built as a spectator sport(so far),
if you think about it, how many games do we really gamble on in pool 4 or 5, there are lots of pool games and its possible to make up many more yet only a handful are action games.
In Europe they dont play 1P yet here its THE action game on the west coast, they will never play 1P there as it just dont catch on, they dont get it, its a american game, different cultures have different games.
BB is trying to devlop their own following and that aint us, its people who dont know which end of a cue to chalk-or so they claim. it appears to be that way.
So to not see action with BB in Tunica isnt really a big deal. There was no snooker there or 3C or that Italian carom pins game, etc. There aint bank pool in Ca.
no knock on You chris, your my friend i respect you and your game, but BB just aint pool, its a sport(or so they say)

me and Daz not seen eye to eye in the past, but this we do 100% Darren puts it perfectly, this game is a great game.. Everyone needs to support us and help us have a chance to succeed.
Some of us are not in a great position financially right now, but we are all supporting the game and working together to make it a success.
