Bogus Ball..from the start

Well, yes, but the good Doctor had a diagram of every possible shot in that book. If you could master all those shots, you would certainly be a champion.

On an unrelated note, I was interested to see Lee take over from Nathan as the primary media liaison.;)

She passed herself off as a big time 'business consultant' also. Last time she was seen however she was holding a 'Mr Campbell' sign at Newark Airport.

Your pereception:

Nobody cares BB lost its money on their own mistakes. We care about our friends that are stuck with a months bills and a lease because of BB false statements about finances and big payouts.Financed for 2 years, weekly payments, big bonuses etc.Broke after 2 weeks!!!!! Many players changed their lives based on these false promises.IPT, BB how many more black eyes for pool before the players learn to investigate before they fall for another scam!

________________________________________________

is lacking in some factual basis.
Nobody tried to get over on anybody-they gambled, they lost.
Better to try and fail than to never try at all.
Both the IPT and BB invested and paid large amounts out to bring thier endeavours to life.
Sopadre,
no one wants the players to endure more hardships.
These are attempts to try something new.
Either they will fail or they will not.
Have you a better idea?
Would you throw a fraction of the money and effort that the others have at an idea?
Really gamble on pool?
We know there is risk in all ventures, and pool players better than anyone, know how to take the swings.
Ease off unless you are willing to do what I and others have done.
Then we'll pipe up about your shortcomings:eek:.

Great Questions!

Jay & Justin - yáll are there.
- are they paid to-date for arrears?
- have they been paid for lost wages?
- have their expenses been covered during downtime?
- was there a Contract that covered all Players, in the event of Breech, for all expenses/leases/return costs, to continue @ payment?

and more importantly

- WHERE is NATHAN?

This is really interesting:

"The Plan: Although the WPBL will start out as a single-venue league, long range planning calls for teams to be located in major market areas all across the US and parts of Canada. The main source of revenue for the league is expected to come from Internet pay-per-view sales, merchandise, and ticket sales. Since the owners of Bonus Ball have obtained their own Internet broadcasting channel, they will be able to store taped matches that can be accessed and viewed at the convenience of their subscribers; along with pay-per-view live streaming of league games. To make this venture feasible, the owners of Bonus Ball want to expand their market potential by attracting a large following of new fans. They intend to do this by grooming their professional players to become recognizable entities that fans can identify with. This will come about when the WPBL teams are eventually split up and moved into large cities where they can each build their separate fan bases. "

That was written by Roger Long, on the AZB home page.
Bonus Ball

I don't know how accurate the info is, but if that is the marketing plan...well sh1t, how can it fail?

If I'm reading this right, BB wants to pull revenue from new customers. Customers that don't have a serious interest in Pool (or none at all), while ignoring the current pool of customers that would be considered dedicated fans. These are the same dedicated fans that don't need to be sold on Pool and already do spend money on Pool? Instead of building BB on an existing customer base, then expanding, I suppose BB management knows something we don't know?

iT IS SO SIMPLE ,IT IS GEEEN-US.

Take people who know about, like and spend money on something and completely ignore them- fuuk, offend them too- then find a group of people (we'll call it the WORLD, and its huuuuuuge, btw!!!) who has not shown interest in that thing and make them spend money on it.

What could go wrong?
:thud:

thank you.
and unfortunately, Nathan owes me another $1.00....

Contrary to a new post'BB players paid' , the players HAVE NOT BEEN PAID.

What was shown was 1 check with 1 players name[CoryD] amount1K[ 5K owed]and dated 7-20-13.The other checks shown had no names or amounts shown. How many checks were there?Who were the other checks to?What were the amounts of the other checks?Who has the checks? When are they going to be given out?Who signed the checks? Are the checks any good?

The players have not been paid until they have truthfully been totally compensated.Until this happens,if ever, any post like the above referenced is more smoke and mirrors from the dreamers.

The smart money will pay attention to the posts from JAY H and JCIN who have both proven to be knowledgeable in business and always positive forces in the pool world.

John, if you're so confident why are you asking for 10-1? I will bet there are no matches on Aug. 1, 2, 3 or 4. I will bet up to $1,000. I don't want any odds, even money is fine.

The window is closed. But I was NOT confident hence the asking for odds.

I don't want to bet with you anyway. I would rather there not be any animosity between us on any level.

At this point I do not care one bit about Bonus Ball.

I'm not sure quite why, but that last line caused an lol here.

Bonus Ball

We all got a little of back room chat when a person who had said something to another player about BB, and he forgot the Mic was on. I think the game of Bonus Ball will never catch on, and by the way, nobody even knew the rules when the matches were in process, so how were the Public going to understand it ? Maybe they could have a different type of World Pool League, or US open Pool League series. It just didn't make sense to me for having random players playing for a team way across the country, just to create a Pro Team Event, if they were to pick 4-6 Major cities around the USA, and use the players in their our home Pool Room, example: Atlanta Scorpions, Phoenix Fire, etc. They could all have teams in their area to go to when another team came to town, thus creating a market and selling locals tickets to watch and support real Pool. They could Play round robins with games of / -Ball--9-Ball -10-Ball, etc. I think this would have been a good idea and create a personal fan base and a way to market this League. They would have to sit down down and figure out if they were stepping on other toes that also were running tournaments. Lets be Professional about this Players, some of you already got a black eye over the US Open 9 Ball Event, and tried to sabotage one tournament, Then Barry did what he had to, and now previous winners of the event will now have to pay their own entry, instead of Barry paying the entries of all of the past winners for the rest of their life. I think BB had true intentions when they started, but they started to bite themselves when they found out... they had a confusing Product to sell and most people didn't want what they were selling. They could market, example of Bar Room 8-Ball League, and in their own Pool Rooms and then have their own year end tournament, to crown a winning Team.. just my opinion on this subject..They could have done this in a way, in the end, the USA could play against Europe, similar to the Mosconi Cup...and really create a true World Tournament....

I'm not sure quite why, but that last line caused an lol here.

Other than our bet I really don't give a crap about BB at this point. Just another pile of crap apparently. I mean I am all for anyone trying new things and this has been Larry's dream for 15 years or so.

Who wouldn't want to go down in history as the inventor of a game that became super popular?

But all this tearing apart of good people that I like in this business is nuts beyond nuts. In some ways it's even worse than the IPT.

Seems that unfortunately relationships are damaged now that may never be good again.

The money might be there, it might now be, but the friendships that have been destroyed, the factions and cliques formed is disgusting. People forget so easily that Mark Griffin has never once given anyone a bad check. Mark bailed out the Phoenix pro event that was supposedly guaranteed, paying the pros out of his pocket.

It's disgusting really, all the nittiness happening. If BB doesn't start back up in August you win the bet, I just want out of it at this point and could care less if it starts back up or not.

Dont be so down. This will pass and sooner than you think. Look at the past problems Mackey, the PCA and PBT, Barry Behrmans antics. the Pool Player Organiizations, CW and so much more. All these things caused divisions.

But People forget real quick. Marv Albert was never supposed to work again. This too will pass.

not one Pro Player has complained anything about Bonus Ball,

I think it's interesting that not one Pro Player has complained anything about Bonus Ball, or not getting compensated fairly.....yet there's an army of "sweaters" complaining for them. (acting almost like they represent them) Then, sooner or later someone from the "gallery" will say "The Pro players are nothing but complainers".....really? how ironic......
