Best hitting cue you ever played with.

best hitting cue

For most all of my playing years it would have been the Benson cue I got from Omaha John. But recently I had Dennis Cash make me a cue to my specs. It is by far the best hitting cue I have ever laid my hands on. It is a ppleasure to play with.

The absolute best hitting breaker I've ever felt is made by Gary Johnson in Flippin, Arkansas. It's actually a jump/break and there are no words I can express, as to how it felt when I played with it for several hours one night. It just annihilated the rack.....and I'm a small guy.....with a 17 mph break.

I sadly passed up on buying it, simply because I had a different, personal design in mind. Thankfully a regular playing friend bought that breaker, so it's still "in the family".

Luckily, I'm going to have Gary make me a breaker this fall/winter, so I can put the 2-piece Dufferin house cue away.

Oh yeah, Gary makes a helluva player cue, as well. He's very meticulous, timely with delivery and at a price that's probably half of what I've seen others of similar quality/materials go for on here.

Fatboy's Black Boar

Beyond that - my Gulyassey or Fanelli hit a ton.

LOL I have had so many people say that. Max, Cotton, and many others-top champion's Shane said "it dont matter". Hatch loves it too. I like his cue.

I have let well over 100 people play with it, anyone who is a B player or better that wont ding it is welcome to play with it, I like to share it.

I would be happier if it wasnt as fancy, I spoke to Tony about painting it matt black(removable) so it would go under the radar-i'm a bit self conscious playing with a flashy cue.

Thanks buddy, and i'm triple sorry i didnt make it back out to Vegas, I had a horrible cold, my 3rd one this year. I never catch colds-I get backaches. However this year has been brutal 3 of them. I really wanted to come see you and a few other people. I was ok by Saturday-the day before it ended. :(

Other than my Boar the best cue I have hit a ball with is Coreys cue. He has a OB shaft on it now and it's better than ever. Even before the OB shaft his cue a is Wood Pecker, thats my favorite hitting cue, I have played with it many times over the past 6 or 7 years. when ever I can I play with it, he is very cool about letting me use it. I don't use it during the Mosconi Cup because I dont want to cause a tip problem or something, so after he lets me hit balls with it and when ever else we cross paths. I told him if that cue ever goes missing-"its cause I stole it". Its that good. :)

In Salt Lake City in 88 I was in action when the bet got to $100(at the time that was good action for me) I had to get a better cue, I was using a worn out C series Mc Dermott I sold it for $30 when i got off the road. Anyways back to the story, the bet got to $100 and I asked around for a cue a guy said "Here its ugly but plays good as anything ever" it was a orange and white Viking, After I was done I think i won $250 ish I offered to buy the cue, it was worth maybe $100 back then, he wouldnt sell it-period. That was one hell of a cue, i was there for 3-4 days I actually spoke to a few other players who knew that cue. It was a production cue, with orange marblelite, nothing special as a rule, but in that particular cue the planets all lined up perfectly to create one of the best hitting cues ever, like I said people knew of that cue outside of that room. It was special.

Best hitting cue must weigh 18oz with Irish linen all the way to the end of the butt cap and must have a Predator Z2 shaft on it. LIGHTS OUT!!!

George Balabushka

I got to hit balls with one during the Johnston City days. It could make a Blue Circle Centennial cue ball, churn thru a 14 ball rack on thick rag cloth. As we all know the natural ball is our most reliable because of its simplicity. Rolling a ball with 12 o'clock high, Never felt that way Ever with any other cue. You actually felt like you could shoot with Diliberto in 14.1 on a good day and get there, maybe. I've had a custom made Josh West, Zamboti, Southwest & Kikel. I've owned quite a few others with Tad being one but, my best hitting cue of all, walked after a gambling match was over, but I never did figure out who made it, or who took it. It was late seventies, it had a screw on ferrule of High quality. The ferrule joint looked as good as any normal cue joint, yet invisible. Back in the 60's and on, cues were sacred if the hit was right. Then....Cues had to do more work because of table cloth conditions, especially during those times when there was NO air conditioning.

I have played with several production cues that I have owned from Pechauer, Viking, Schon, Nova as well as several others of friends and I am 100% enamored with my Custom Runde, would not trade it for anything.

Might be the best combination of fancy & playability I've hit with?

Cue hits like no other. Hard to describe. Obviously a gorgeous cue as well.

I keep telling Fatboy to at least leave me this in his will - even though he will long out live me he has still yet to do it.

I have played with cues from $100 all the way past $5000. and as crazy as this may sound the first time I played with a 5280 sneaky pete I fell in the with the cue! now I play with a 5280 rm6 and I love it! I the the radial joint best hit ever!

its yours, if i throw a early 7 i will make sure Kelly ships it to you. I' know it would have a good home.

I have a Black Boar, Scruggs, and quite a few other custom cues.... but I keep going back to my Mike Capone. Great Cue!
