I just saw on Facebook that Shane will be playing his first big 14.1 event at the upcoming Dragon Promotions 14.1 World Tournament. I was hoping he'd play, and I'm pretty excited to see how he handles himself playing straight pool. I saw the 115 run of his that was posted on youtube, and I think if it's pool he's always a threat to win. Here's to hoping that there is a good stream of the event where we can all watch it.

This is great news. Efren, Dennis, Francisco and Darren all took a shot at straight pool despite having almost no experience in the discipline. Each of them has a top five in major 14.1 event. Let's add that Marlon Manalo took a shot at the NJ 14.1 Championship and won it.

Good luck to Shane.

Yes he ran that 115 at our event last year for the Fury 14.1 Challenge at SBE, I was honored that he played. It was awesome to score for him and really glad that he let me film it !!!

Glad you enjoyed it !!

This is fantastic news. I will be in the NJ/NY area the 21st to the 2nd. I have made plans to get to Steinway to watch the event. Knowing SVB may be there is an additional bonus. I feel like a giddy teenager. Well, I am excited to see them at least. I dont get much 14.1 in the San Diego area.

Endurance

Not for nothin' but with the endurance (mental and physical) he shows in the TAR matches racing to 100, I suspect if he put his mind to 14.1, he could be a whale.

Could he be the one??

No doubt in my mind that if he put his mind to it, Shane could play 14.1 at a level comparable to Hohmann, Schmidt, Ortmann and Feijen, whom I reckon to be the best four right now.

With so few 14.1 events on the pool calendar, however, it seems unlikely that Shane will focus on 14.1 anytime soon.
