Although I do not know Charlie personally, I have met him, been to many of his events, and witnessed his honesty and integrity during games and even during conversations with others. The man has never demonstrated anything but professionalism and the highest level of ethics in my presence. As I remember, Dragon Promotions have been involved with charity events and youth tournaments in the past and have been an example in the industry for such work. During emotional moments like the death of a loved one or a dear friend, we often point fingers or lash out before we think--because we are hurting--and this may be one of those cases. These professionals contribute by providing their time and experience in promoting a profitable event. For the most part, they are not millionaire athletes that can write a check and hang out for two or three days with no income. They can only provide their time and management expertise. I commend Charlie Williams and the DP Staff for attending this event and doing what they could to make it a success. From reading the above information concerning Charlie's concessions, it sounds as if he did much more than he was anticipating in this event. The misunderstanding is unfortunate, and the death of a great man is tragic. But please don't insult a good man and good intentions because he attempts to professionally manage an event like this. It is, after all, what he does for a living. I am sure he will be much more cautious in the future when someone asks him to help out by appearing at a promotion.
