Where to play in LA

all day for me is 3-5 hours, typically 3-4. I never have had stamina for pool, even when i was 19 i couldnt do it. When i was 32 in the best shape of my life, 6 hours of pool and i'm shot-more mental than anything, i lose concentration. weak i know but its the truth.

I have always admired guys like Bartrum and Artie and Monk who can play 50 hours and be strong as ever. I wish i was one of those type of players. I read books and meditation to try and get there , cant do it. $$$ helps me focus better.

Check yur PM i'm ging to send you my phone number ring me and lets make a game. i been looking for a banks game in LA for a long time. Jay is gone often and we live far apart-I tried to get a $10/rack game with Rich and he wouldnt play 6-4 my scratches dont count( I cant make intentional scratches -honest effort rules) he wouldnt play me. I think he has the best of it, he has to out bank me 2-1 to win and on the front table i believe he does bank 2X better than me, on the other 2 tables i mite have a chance to get out even.

Full rack he would rob me, i dont know full rack as well as short rack baks, i like 11 ball banks the best. Freddy the Beard showed me that game and robbed me, lol, he had a flash back he said, my ass-he still plays great!!!!

I like $20 pool, even with the worst of it, i like expensie pool if its a fair game. I just dont always bet big, thats not the truth at all, i perfer bigger action but it just ait there.

Lou, i'll pm you my number too call me anytime.

You've got 5-4 for 20 a game and I'll come to you! DUDE!!!!
P.S. You can quit whenever you want or if you go broke. Ha Ha

I'll let you know.

And if it's the older blonde woman (the only woman I've ever seen playing there) -- she has been on a table, in the back row, at least four or five times, one table away from me. Where she plays when I'm not there, I have no clue. Maybe she just thinks I'm cute and wants to get close :-)

Lou Figueroa

Nope this regular is an asian

Hey Jay why not try and set up a local banks tournament here in LA. Ill put in the first $100 for prize money.. It should be a lot of fun with the great bankers in town. Rich banks so good I been trying to get him to take up the game.

I used to play Rich 10/6 and never won. But after each session I would feel depressed about my game. I started playing him even. Only we both go to 10. (He often is 8 and out so that 10 gives me more play time). I play better, learned a lot, and made me feel good about myself. I still loss but came away better for it.

5-4 is a fair game, i bet-we are betting duh:o it will be kinda sorta close.

My table is real tight for banks, I have banked 4 once on it, granted i havent played lots of banks on it, but its tighter than HOB.

I'd really like to see you soon, Kelly is gone after the 15th for a couple weeks, so i have lots of time then, or now she is cool as you know. If you like come to my house and we'll have dinner too. be great to see you Jay i really miss you. So does Kelly we were talking abut pool people the other night that we havent seen in a long time. I saw you for a second on the first day in Vegas but you were triple busy so i didnt bother you.

he would rob me 10/6 playing 1P, my 1P game aint all that good, i havent been playing it for 25 years(like i should have). I bank better than I play 1P.

i'll help you (Jay) with it if you need me to, let me know. would be fun.

that will be great, Saturday works better for me! I'll be there just come get me and we can play full rack banks for $20 all day.

Oh by the way I am one of the contributors to the Accu-stats make it happen 14.1 thing and they are streaming it live this weekend. But I always can make a window for 3 hours to meet up with you. Looking forward to it.

... were you there when I saw Richie? Were you there when Wayne was there playing another guy?...
.... I have no idea what your speed is but it's obvious you are heavily invested in 1pocket in SM and I'm willing to take my chances..
..Lou Figueroa

You said you were talking to Richie, so you had a chance to play him then but you decided not to. Both Wayne and I saw you on the back tables when Wayne was free. Caught you in a deliberate lie. My interest is in exposing blowhards who mouth off about how they couldn't get a game, when they could.

I am a professional railbird and amateur C player who likes a lock. I do not put my self out as a big action guy like you do. However, after you play Yobagua and Wayne and I get a sense of your speed, we can work something out. ;)

Dang, there's some serious a lotta this going on in this "where to get played" thread:

Sorry if my memory is not perfect from almost a 100 hours there over the course of several years. I don't recall seeing Wayne there some four or five years ago and if I did I thought he was playing someone else. That's a big difference from an deliberate lie, especially since I have no reason to do so and you are not a mind reader. And if Wayne was so available, why didn't he come over and ask me to play?

I had no chance to play Richie. I had been there all day and it was 5pm and I had promised my Mom I'd take her out to dinner. What do you not understand about that?

I have never claimed to be a big action guy. I have always said I like $10-$40 action, but have been known to bet a little more amongst guys I know at home.

And your need to put a radar gun on my game before stepping up (and that you think $10-$40 is "big action"), as opposed to someone who is just willing to take his chances, says a lot about you ;-)

Udder than that, the war is over, you lost, go home and knit -- you and I both know you'll never play.

Lou Figueroa
lol, must be something

You claimed you could never get a game in SM. I claimed you were one of those typical blowhards who only ask C players and duck B and A players. Wayne (who is one of the most scrupulously honest guys in pool) and I saw you hiding on the back tables when Wayne was free. We caught you in a lie and thus I proved my contention.

At the beginning of the thread you were bragging about all the pros you play, then Yobagua made you back off that bit of exaggeration. Then Wayne makes you back off from acting like you are a big action guy. You are probably a low A player, yet you still want to duck A players like Wayne. You only want to concentrate on C players, but when a C player like me says we'll work something out, you get your panties in a twist and claim we won't play.

So far in this thread, you've been exposed as a phony, hypocrite, liar, and blowhard. (But, I don't think comes as a real shock to the pool community ;-)

Why didn't Wayne ask me to play?

I don't expect a nit to understand the nuance between gamble and donate.

And all you've exposed is your ass.

Have a nice day.

The way the tables are set up in that room is just completely brutal for an out-of-towner. I'm sure pro-speed players have the talent and can adjust, but for the average guy it is a huge disadvantage. But, whaddayagonna do.

And thanks for the offer to steer. I'll let you know next time I'm around. Maybe we can go pick on Jay.

Lou Figueroa

efren dont have a problem there, i seen SVB, ocollo, hatch, etc not like it to much. they can adjust faster of course but man its brutal. its not the small pockets ass much the humidity changes IMO

I guess I will have to go there to see you. You NEVER come down my way! You've got action all day long at 20 a game, Eight Ball or Banks. Ha Ha
We did have some long sessions a few Summers back. I haven't forgotten. We played for ten or twenty a game and you told me to give you my best game and I did. :)
P.S. I loved that pool room in your old house. What a perfect place to play that was! I swear I would have slept in there in a sleeping bag, I liked it so much. Remember that Bank pool game with you and Max against me and Bobby. I was zinging 'em, wasn't I?

That room was IMO the best room ever, I just guessed and put a box in it, It was stone cold luck it came out so good. Wow the times we had there, of course i remember playing you every time.

I will come down your way if you like. I'm not doing much the next 2-3 weeks i'm open. yay!!!:):)

I'm a C player, right?

Champions are champions. They have the skill set and experience to fade the conditions anywhere -- their game is going to hold up. But for the average player the home track advantage at SM is huge.
