I do know this. If the humidity level in the pool room is 100%, it's raining inside. 
Aim for 50% relative humidity.
Ultimately, you want the conditions to remain the same during play. It's not easy for some people to adjust in the middle of a set. Beware tables near doors. :wink:

Honestly I am in SDak now and 60% feels about right.
You are so correct. Not too long ago I was playing on the older 9' Diamond that was moved near to the front door of the hall & a front came through ( I'm near to New Orleans) & the table changed almost from one shot to the next. That's an exaggeration, but only a slight one.

I have played in conditions that were TOO dry....miscued a lot.
tables play best at 10-15% humidity, thats whats nice about Vegas. the trade off is more skids.
If there is humidity above that its ok too, as long as its consistent, then its not as challenging to have to figure out the table everytime it changes. So if its 80-100% thats fine too, you adapt to it and its consistent.

I agree that with a consistent humidity one can adapt...but did you ever play on a table with 80-100% on it? I have many times and it's no fun. If you have 4.5" pockets they will play like 4" and forget about banking the ball comes off the rail every which way and very short. Anything under 55% is good playing. Johnnyt

When I forget what I'm playing on & shoot a shot 'normally' they sometimes make my jaw drop & then i just shake my head for being so stupid & forgetting what I was playing on.

To be honest I've only played on Diamond 9' tables a few time. To me they all banked short dry, so I can imagine how short they are in high humidity. I was a Brunswick guy

I've had an 'oversize' Brunswick Sport King for nearly 47 years & believe it or not it still has the original rails because they still play great. They must have used 'magic rubber' in the 60s.
The 2 Diamond tables I am playing on lately have 4" corner pockets. Sometimes I can't even bank a ball to get it to the pocket they bank so short much less go into the pocket. But...there are those ones that line up long & those are a different story.:wink:

I was playing in a REALLY damp room once....
..the shot was straight in, 'bout 5 feet away...
...in my mind, I played to draw it 3 feet ( I only needed to come back 1 foot)
....the cue-ball stopped dead...:angry:
