We have black tables and need to pick a cloth color. Should we stick with classic green or do you thing players like reds or blues? Maybe an oddball color? Thanks in advance!

Pool players will say standard green or tournament blue everytime. Green will hide stains better, that you will get, in a commercial environment. Just my 2 cents.

I think tourny blue looks the best, but the first thing i noticed when i switched from simonis green to blue, was how easily the blue clothed got marked up.

For at home? It depends more on the room's décor. Get whatever color will look best. My table has red felt as its an older classic style table and that matched the room best.

Another option (that I'm maybe considering next time I have to replace) is the tan. The big plus to tan as a cloth is that with playing with tan chalk you won't discolor your shaft :)

Tournament blue is bright and looks/feels great but basically its just a personal preference.

Tournament Blue seems to be a passing fad, even the tournaments are going back to green. If you want something different try gray.

I personally love the look of a sea of green when I walk into a room. I guess it is what I've grown accustomed to through the years.

Tournament blue

Tournament blue reflects light better than green. It will make your pool room brighter and livelier. All green is drab. I definitely prefer to play on the blue for the reflective quality, seems easier on the eyes for extended playing time.

Tournament Blue is my favorite. Green is fine, that's what I have at home but I'll be swtiching to Tournament Blue when I can part with the cash to do so.

The "Color of Money" is green.

Blue became popular because blue is better for TV.

I wonder what color the cloth would be at "Ames" if "The Hustler" were filmed in color?

I personally as a player do not care what color the field of war is. As a tournament director, the greatest discontent from potential players was received when trying to play on red cloth, with required red chalk.
Incredible amounts of whining, albeit from players that had never played a single game on the tables.

Tournament blue all the way. . I have blue with my black railed Diamonds and it looks fantastic!

Being a bit of a traditionalist I have Green 860 and Centennials at home on my GC. I do not mind playing on the blue. My observation in my home pool room that switched from green to blue. The Blue does not WEAR as well as the Green. the blue seems to show everything faster than the green did. dirt, stains, ball marks (break lines, lines on the rails near the corners, ball divots from jump shots, etc.). If you are looking for a traditional classic look and one that lasts longer stick with the green. On a side note, I had my table mechanic turn my GCII into a black table when he re-furbished for install. the green looks really nice against the black.
