Mean Spirited?

I think Rick just needs a hug. You will need to arc your arms to hug him, so use the piston stroke.

I don't think there are that many mean-spirited people on the Main Forum.

There are some posters who have a pack mentality and if one of the pack decides to zoom-in on one or more persons, the pack can be merciless, unless the moderators put the muzzle on them.

Without a tight rein on the cyber-bullies, they will continue to lay waste to the forum and those who don't join their clan.

Intelligent and diplomatic-minded posters just get tired of the ad hominem attacks and find other things to do with their time.

This could be one of the reasons why others perceive the forum going downhill.

This is supposed to be a fun forum for anyone who loves pool but one person's idea of fun doesn't always seem like fun to others.

The constant needling gets old after a while; when the shit hits the fan, El Kabong comes in with the ban hammer, albeit too late for effective remediation. It's a thankless job for the most part. The management doesn't mind spirited conversations but I guess it is just difficult to know when to apply the muzzle.

I have 38 years of experience in hugging. My swooping hug motion is the best. Prove me wrong.

Hello Banks,

Thank you for your sincere reply.

I am always looking to learn more about hugging, especially when we are dicussing such technicalities as the swoop vs the piston.

Forgive me for not understanding, but let me ask you this:

If your arms are encircling the body of another person, wouldn't you call that a grasp? I feel that due to the word "swooping", you are clearly insinuating that youy are coming from below into an upward motion, similar to the birds at the park that I feed bread crumbs too.

Well known hugging industry "facilitators" would have you believe that a "swoop" could mean more than the bird motion, just as if you were to draw a circle on a piece of paper, you should not actually call it a circle because it is not perfectly round. No human can draw a perfectly round circle, contrary to popular belief. But I stick to my guns, edit my signature a few times, and find renewed strength to battle people's logic and facts.

I really do appreciate your input Banks, if you stop drinking the Kool-Aid and listen to my well presented argument, I think you will benefit in your hugging endeavors.

God bless you, have a great day!

Rick.

Can you be a little more clear about this swooping hug motion? A video perhaps.....

Is this the chicken-wing hug motion that has recently gone viral?

So, it's okay if the antagonist is the one being "attacked"? I really don't see the logic there. He runs around poking everybody and then cries foul when people get tired of it. I'm not going to feel bad for anything. He takes the JAM method out.. if you pose a question that results in an answer that is contrary to his position, he doesn't answer it and tries to laugh it off.. right before going back to arguing about everything.

It's a hug that one of my parents taught me when I first started hugging.

I'd post a video, but I'm at work and that would be a little awkward..

Tap! Tap! Tap!

Tap! Tap! Tap!

Hello Rick,

I appreciate your efforts.

I am a little confused my what you mean when you say "tap tap tap".

If one was to tap on the post you quoted, nothing would happen because these are words on the internet and you can't touch or feel them.

There was a well respected member of this board who calls himself an instructor who teaches this same method. I feel this method is faulty, and my extensive experience reading internet forum posts has led me to conclude that there is a better method.

Next time you read something you agree with, I demand you give the poster a "Harumph". Per the movie Blazing Saddles, when you agree with the message, everyone must shout their approval by saying "Harumph!"

I feel that Mel Brooks, who (as you well know) was a leader in the fundamentals of the English language, knows what is best for all of us.

Please ensure that you fix your ways immediately, it is always hard for me to pull people like you back from the years of mistakes and poor decision making you have done all your life until now.

Have a blessed day.

Best regards,

Rick

You can't handle the truth

Why are there so many mean spirited people on AZB?

My answer is I don't have the first damn clue. Maybe he was an early riser and liked to LOG ON in the morning. And maybe he didn't have any friends. I'm an educated man, but I'm afraid I can't speak intelligently about the POSTING habits of William Santiago.

What I do know is that he was set to LOG ON TO AZB at 0600. Now, are these the questions I was really called here to answer? FAVORITE CHALK AND AIMING METHODS? Please tell me that you have something more, ENGLISH. These AZPOSTERS are on trial for their lives. Please tell me their lawyer hasn't pinned their hopes to an AZ BILLIARDS POLE.

The long time AZB member is correct.

The long time AZB member is correct.

Jack Nicholson was correct even though he ordered the code red. Sorry if the tongue in cheek wasn't apparent in my previous.

I think the "snarkies" are the way they are for the same reason someone in a minivan intentionally speeds up to cuttoff someone's merge. Just sometimes people only feel better about themselves by making others feel worse.

Maybe self filtering could be better for some but for those that can't or don't, mute can work.

THAT'S IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, but you are probably charging hundreds to share your secrets. I may not have your level of 'training' or 'skill', but I have been hugging at a very high level for 30 years myself.

You may consider yourself a 'master-level hugger', and may in fact be certified as such, but my knowledge is gained from years of hugging, and everyone knows that vague, nonspecific chatter is far superior to 'certifications' and 'credentials'.

I will happily share my technique with anyone who will let me hug them... please.
