SVB not wanting to play Lion in all around for $50k?

They changed the table back to standard pocket dimensions after Shane's match with Daz.

Why should a table be anything other than the standard , they don't change the cup in golf , or the rim in basketball a football field is still 100 yrds and there is still 3 bases in baseball. , why should pockets ever be changed from what the standard is ,

I've just about changed my mind about tight pockets. I believe practicing on a tight pocket table helps your pocking skills, but tournaments should remain standard size pockets. Also I believe if there were only still only GC's and no Diamond's, there would be a lot more "A" and shortstops around. When all the major tournaments went to Diamonds it ran a lot of the older players off...IMO. Johnnyt

"Good" players stopped playing because the equipment was too tough for them?

Really?

How "good" were they then....?

Well if you are going to go that far, why not bumper pool and bonus ball?

I can see adding more games on a 9' foot pool table such as banks and straight pool, but to include snooker or 3 cushion billiards is ridiculous.

Alex would be a HUGE favorite in any game played on a snooker table as he has much more experience.

I don't think bonus ball will be making anyone's cut.
Especially since these 2 players turned the game down.

As far as Alex being a favorite in certain games you may be right, Shane's favorite in 10 ball for sure to.
And SVB is favorite every time he plays on tar, it's like home court, so why won't he just go play some at hard times. He's the best American player, no doubt, so id like to see him get out and play around in different spots, can't be at your home turf every time. If there's action go get it, it don't need to be on TAR every time, just go play pool, like he says. :)

shane needs to meet up with wang can somewhere and play a long 10b race. Someone needs to stream it.

There would be little extra traveling cost incurred when they're already present at the same tournament multiple times now.

much more interesting than watching earl vs shane...

I like Alex in an all-around verses SVB.

There isn't many or frankly anyone else that I would say that about.

SVB is solid.

Yeah, no snooker!

Pedro Pedrabuena is a friend of mine and while he would absolutely decimate me playing 3 cushion, he wouldn't have a chance at any of the pocket billiard games.

To include 3 cushion or snooker in a pool playing all around just isn't right. IMO...

Yeah, no games like 3 cushin, carim, snuker or rotation or any other stupid games them forners play, huh?

In an "all-around," why not add disciplines to include all the current tournament games. Best out of five: 8-Ball. 10-Ball, One-Pocket, Banks, & Straight Pool for $100k. Now there's a match! 4.5" pockets should suffice.

now that is a real all around! I never was keen on 8/10/one hole being some kind of all around.

8, 9, one pocket, banks and 14.1 completely cover all aspects of pocket billiards. That is a real all around

From a global perspective the most played and lucrative cue sports are:

1. Snooker
2. 8 ball
3. 9 ball or 10 ball

So if you throw 1 pocket and possibly straight pool into the mix you have 5 distinctly different disciplines you could have Alex and Shane play in.

My breakdown:

Shane has very little chance playing Alex snooker.
8 ball is pick em in my opinion.
Shane has the edge in either 9 ball or 10 ball because of his break.
I give Alex the same edge in 1 pocket that Shane would have in 9 ball/10 ball.
Pick em again in 14 – 1.

So in my opinion, if you were backing Shane and you were looking at these five disciplines you would have to be having an argument with your bankroll to fade Shane’s action.

Love to see it though………….

Agree or disagree?
