I have noticed that Earl wears weights on his arms. However it always seems to be different. Sometimes the left sometimes the right . Sometimes one weight sometime two. Why?

He cray cray.

Earl has such an incredible lightness of spirit that if he didn't weight himself to the ground he would float clean away.

I don't know, but if he keeps winning tournaments, you will probably see all the other top players wearing them too.

It does minimize the gravitational fluctuations caused by both the phases of the moon and a heavy medical marijuana stash.

Because...

Don't know about the left arm, but Earl said he wears the weight on his right arm to keep his stroke from wavering right to left, and he wears weights on his ankles to keep his stance more solid.

I heard someone say he wears them on his left arm to prevent coming up on the shot.

To minimize any unnecessary arm moments and to gain more stability.
Also just in case if his opponent ask for "weight" when matching up for a big money match....

He wears weight on his arms to keep them from once again falling on his head,,,,,,!!!

In all seriousness,,,,he thinks it keeps his arm stable throughout his stroke,,,

I noticed at the Turning Stone,,,,they kept sliding down and it was funny to see him take them off and put them on again,,,,,

Also,,,,he always presses on his tip before he breaks,,,,

Mosconi used to say that was a no-no as the natural oils from your finger would make the tip slippery,,,,,,,

Oh well,,,,,

Alan.

I've never met the guy but I'm assuming he's been into lots of gimmicks that make him think he is playing better when infact he plays great regardless.

I've seen him wearing golf gloves on his right hand before. God I hate it when my wrap isn't grippy enough!

I'm assuming its something to do with side to side sway or to aid his stroke into being more fluent. He wears them on the left because after a week on his right arm he naturally leans to the right. Sorts out his posture. :)

Honestly, I don't friggin' know.

PLACEBO.........

Nuff said, it's all in his head. But hey, he thinks they work therefore: THEY WORK. (for him)

What if a player had a brace that somehow ensured a straight stroke every time? I assume it wouldn't be legal for competiton. If it wasn't Earl, I think the weights would've already been banned.

I noticed earl was jumping up during his shots in his match with Brandon shuff, he wasn't wearing any weights. He lost that match. A few minutes later earl comes back wearing weights on his upper arm and ankle and plays mike DeChaine and plays incredible. Go figure, maybe there's something to it.

I'd be too embarrassed to play with weights on in public. :embarrassed2:
Perhaps once I get my own pool table I'll try practicing with arm weights in the privacy of my own home and see if it helps

Will Earl be allowed to play with his giant cue and arm weights if he makes the Mosconi Cup?
