Please excuse me if I posted this before,,,, I thought I did but can't find it now,,,,,,,,,

I have 2 players that crack their Juma ferrules. They jump and break with their playing cues. The ferrules are unthreaded 5/8 long with a 5/16 tenon.

No other person has ever cracked any Juma ferrule that I have put on .

Any suggestions on a tougher material that might not crack?

thanks

Leave it capped. Leave at least 3/16 cap.
For the guys who like their tips thin, they're liable to break uncapped Jumas.
The only one I trust uncapped now is Mason's Micarta.
If you don't like it capped, you might wanna get RBC's carbon fiber pad.
Fiber pads muff the hit imo. Carbon fiber does not.

Next time I have their sticks in for a tip, I will try a capped ferrule....... although some think that softens the hit a little bit.

Mason's Micarta does good and does not crack but if you play the tips thin they might chip around the edge.

Might want to try carbon fiber pad as these are harder or make you own with black G10

Cap an LBM and it probably will never happen again. Juma has no binder in it to resist splitting. It is a thermoset plastic material.

Adding a poly carbonate tip pad will also help. You can make them from old CD's.
Or you can make or get carbon fibre tip pads as well.
