Richard Black Does it Again at ICCS

Mr. Black graced the show with an array astonishing examples of cue creativity. Though he had a large display of cues, one particular model with a Venetian theme was most impressive for me. For a moment, the world vanished and there was only the detail of this cue. Pics cannot capture the chatoyance of the woods or subtleties of balance in form but in my opinion, this cue is one of Richard's best ever. I've been to a lot of shows and seen many fine cues, few have ever left me so moved...I just don't have words for it. Please enjoy these pics

Sloppy work the way those joint protectors don't line up perfectly.

I'm kidding. I've been looking at this cue and the Rock-ola cue non-stop for the last 20 minutes. Insane work! Totally creative and totally awesome cues. The cue Jake Hulsey submitted was also unbelievable!!!

ICCS Photos Wanted....

Please share some photos if you went to the ICCS!

Next year, can this be held in Houston, San Antonio, or Austin?

Its funny you'd say that, even in gest. As I set up to shoot a close up of the shafts, I saw the rings didn't line up...but then I realized the JP just hadn't been fully threaded onto the shaft. A quarter turn and they were flawlessly registered.

Nobody builds perfection, but RB's work certainly achieves some of the highest standards of precision and attention to detail. When I thought I had found an error, I realized the mistake was my own!
