I am the Shitz at identifying cues but the ferrules do appear to be Micarta, but you already suspected that. Nice find as I doubt you will find Micarta ferrules on junk import cues.

Looks like a tillis .... But some things look horribly wrong.

It could of been messed with... Of course.

The shafts dont match.

Would like to see it in person to say for sure.

Not junk but cheap were Robert Wier cues made by Adams, they came with micarta ferrules,I had one years ago and bought it brand new for $127.00

The rings of the shafts match the shock ring around the bottom of the joint
collar to my eyes, unless your talking about something else.

I don't think so, the shafts look to have like twice as many stitches as the butt ring.

I thought he posted a few posts before you

He did post, he didn't post that he trained with Tillis.

I am not positive, but I thought he had said in the past he was a big influence and knew him.

Chuckybaby, I was thinking the original poster may not have known that, and as the case here, I was thinking HE didn't know that. John made no statement or signature line. He states he is working with the bluebook getting information.

Once again, Im trying to help, what exactly are you trying to do?

Ken
