turning to my fellow azer`s for some suggestions on a good break cue, i heard the predator bk3 is awesome but who else makes good break cues??

thanks in advance

All break cues are good. You just have to decide how much you want to spend.

I've never heard of a bad break cue yet.

Someone I play with has the OB break cue (with a Samsara tip) and it's by far the best break cue I've hit with. I much prefer it to the BK2 and the Mezz break cues I've hit with. I haven't tried the BK3.

It depends on how much you're willing to spend really. I use a Poison and it gets the job done, but if I was playing more (I'm hardly playing at all right now) then I'd probably get the OB.

Agree with the OB for a production break cue, I certainly found it to be great. That said I have two custom break cues and they are far better, but of course you have to wait for the build and they are pricier but you get it just how you want it.

I have two answers for you if you're looking for a good production break/jump cue then I would highly recommend a bunjee but if you wanted to go the whole hog & go custom then I can't see past Trevor Donahue @ Carolina Custom Cues his break sticks hit a ton & as far as I'm concerned the White Diamond tip is the ABSOLUTE BEST tip on the market.

Hope this helps

I have used these, so far:
Action Jump/Break
Scorpion Break Cue
J&J Jump/Break
Predator BK & BK2
Poison VX Jump/Break
and a variety of custom break cues

The only one I have left is a J&J Jump/Break. It does exactly what it's supposed to and it was $60 shipped.

I have tried tons of jump breaks or dedicated break cues and I think the best bang for your buck is the poison vx 2.9.

I use a Pechauer break cue and I love it. It is front weighted so you can get the good energy transfer without having to crush it. But I agree with others that pretty much any break cue would work for you. Good luck. :)

Try an Alex Brick....I had a BK2 and got rid of it immediately. Came with a white diamond tip but I much prefer the samsara tip on it. Breaks as good as anything I have tried.

I've tried many....I even have a custom break cue I had my cuemaker build for me. I own 4 different break cues at the moment. From custom...down to Stinger...down to an Action J/B...down to an old Harley-Davidson fiberglass cue w/White Diamond tip glued on a wood shaft...no one of them breaks any better than the other.

And....I've tried the higher-end break cues, several of them, and felt the hype is overblown.

But go ahead and spend $300-$400 on a break cue if you must.....but I'm telling you, you can get one that will get the job done for under $100.

Wish I'd have known then what I know now!!!

I have two dedicated break cues: the Elite "banned" heavy breaker, and its opposite the Elite light breaker. I like them both, starting to like the light breaker more. Both get the job done, although I'm thinking of changing to a leather tip, as hitting anywhere but dead center isn't too good with the stock phenolic tips.

I'm a little biased of course but I've been playing with OB for 5 years and have been breaking with OB Break Shafts/OB Break cue for 4 years. i've won 4 national titles with that bad boy. Really love the balance and controlled feel of the wooden break ferrule in the original break shaft.

They also now have a harder hitting classic style break shaft which hits them a ton! Almost too much for me :).

Of course it goes without saying that OB has about the best customer service you can ask for in the industry.

Hope that helps!

Sincerely,

Raymond

I have to agree with this, for the money they are great break cues~
