A POLL on number of ball sets you now OWN

txstang1 --- no reason to have more than one set? Come on now - not even for nostalgia reasons (as in you grew up with Centennials maybe) or a favorite baseball team set for your best friend when he visits and loves that particular team) or maybe the Aramith Camo set because you are an amazing hunter - or love the design.....or perhaps a poker set to play something different? Those are a few reasons - just maybe 😁

I guess i could see it if you like to collect different sets, but not for any of the other the reasons you listed. that's just me though i guess.

(1) set of HTF Raschig No Number 9-Ball

(3) sets of Centennials

(1) set of TV Amarith Super Pro

Other various balls

i went nuts and collected about 19 ball sets all with different designs, dont have the zig zag sets or the stars and stripes sets those are to pricey for my blood. I made display racks and my game room is covered with ball sets! dust is the enemy..
have collected about 30 cue balls all different materials and weights, 5 or 6 centenial sets missing mostly the 5 ball of all things....then several autographed cue balls, i think the ball collecting bug is out of my system, but ya never know....:^)

One SAP, without the gay 4 ball.
One Brunswick Centennial.
One SAP edition snooker.

I have never played with the cents and only played with the snooker balls once.

Who the hell needs 28 sets of balls?

I have the ARAMITH, don't remember if they are "SUPER" or not, set that came with our table.

My play set is a set of Centennials that go where ever my cue and case goes.. but I have a practice bucket filled with 6 sets of cheaper balls and a couple of extras to make an even 100... When I had my crappy 8ft Olhausen up I'd pull a pocket loose and pour the balls on the table I'd shoot the same shot for 3-4 buckets worth... Couldn't tell it now tho LOL I need to finish my 9ft and get back to practicing....

3 sets
Saluc/Aramith premium
Saluc/Aramith super pro
Saluc/Brunswick Centenials (same as super pro, but I like the look better)

Just the one Aramith Super Pro/non-TV version. . I think about 99% of people with a table have just one set (and 2, maybe 3 house cues)....but they aren't the ones on this forum, so your results may be a little skewed.

I hear that, Shaft --- I've been playing (mostly)the Aramith Tournament set and then came up with the idea to rack the 1-5 from the new Centennials with the 1-5 of the Tournaments in a bowlliards game ---- and the differences were quite noticeable in a variety of ways. The Centennials have that classic look and super bright colors with easier to read and see numbers - Esp when using the 11-15 in the same comparison. I like me both, but the Centennials are my classic go-to balls for now 😁 For the "standard" games anyway 😄

After watching, reading and participating for well over a year now on this forum, I'm a little surprised that more folks don't have a larger variety or collection of ball sets - especially after so many years passionately loving this game....after all, it's the "balls" that really made this game what it is today, don't ya think?

Basically, any cue (quality, design or weight for example) and any size table (pockets or carom) can be used for the game/sport, so it really comes down to the BALLS part....and those are what determine the game in a vast majority of the choices any of us choose to play. Then again, maybe I'm just talking myself into that notion 😁

For example - I've found it so much easier to keep the explanation of the game rules to my younger grandkids using either the Casino/Blackball set of reds and yellows or a Disney set. Seems to keep their young attention span in the "happy fun zone" much longer as well.

Or, when pulling out the Snooker set and introducing the beauty of scoring and position play of that great game in either a Six-Reds or even 10-Ball snooker game to a regular playing friend or neighbor.....they start smiling immediately.

But, I could on and on and on about the cool, fun and exciting advantages to having many varied sets of balls (been practicing these answers with my wife for a long time) and I don't even have to mention how many/most of us think nothing of spending hundreds or thousands on ONE cue (or many cues while starting out) or the many thousands we spend on our tables, lights, accessories, covers, racks, books, movies, etc, etc, but think it somewhat [unnecessary] to grab that neato set of balls we just KNOW would be FUN to have and play with. Isn't that what we're ALL in this great sport or hobby for ------FUN? 😄

Oh - I'm getting carried away again 😁

Hello, fellow AZB'ers....

I am kindly asking everyone to take a moment and vote or register the number of complete ball SETS you currently own - not necessarily "play" with but own for whatever reason, be it nostalgia, collectible, themed, etc. For example, having sets of the Brunswick Centennials and the Aramith Premiums and the Aramith Snooker set would count as having 3 sets.

1-3 SETS
4-6 SETS
7-10 SETS
11-15 SETS
16-21 SETS
22-27 SETS
28+ SETS

Thanks everyone!

Sorry ALL - I was attempting to set up a POLL, but wasn't given the option like I thought would happen. Yes, I read the poll instructions but again, wasn't given the option when I posted.....perhaps because I used the ipad app version?

I find the choices odd.

Anyone else wanna chime in with number of ball sets owned so I can get a rough idea of the average - and maybe win a small, friendly wager?😁

Any other interesting pool ball sets out there, folks?

I have about 6-7 sets but you can't count me because all except one set were given to me by various makers.

Let me start by saying the poll is flawed from the outset. I bet a lot of folks own one set.....just one but the poll would never reveal that since it lumps everything within 1-3 sets. The poll should ask 1 set, 2-3 sets, 4-5 sets, 6-10 sets etc.

I own two sets of Centennials as I do right now. One set is brand new and sits on my shelf as a back-up set. The other set is my playing set that I transport them to the pool hall in a Aramith case. OOPS//////forgot to include billiard ball sets (carom).......I own two of those sets and so my count is actually four (4) and not two (2) sets.

I also own a Ballstar machine and clean my playing set of Centennials weekly. I've previously owned and sold five different sets of Aramith pool balls including two pro sets. By far, the Brunswick Centennial pool balls by Aramith are the best pool balls I've ever played with......and l've tried playing with the Cyclop pool balls and I think the set colors/design are just awful.......you could give me a set for free and I'd give them away without opening the box.

It's like this.....There are no ugly ducklings allowed in my pool collection, ie. pool ball sets, cue cases and especially, pool cues.
