This exemplifies why pool isn't more popular. This is how neophytes play. The result is far less gratifying than a poor bowling stroke.
At least in bowling some pins go down. Not to mention you can giggle laugh and joke after each shot. In a pool room those kinds of antics will get you a reprimand or worse.
Pool just isn't fun if you don't know how to play. It lacks the instant gratification bad bowling offers.
It takes far too much devotion to accomplish the advanced tummy patting and head tapping that playing decent pool requires. Most first timers are more likely to be turned off by the game IMO.

I always appreciate it when pool gets a "gig" in any movie, commercial, or media outlet.
I like the light in which pool was shown in this commercial...
Young guy in a suit. Slim fit dynamic (hey, nothing wrong with a slim body image).
Pretty girls and overall, a classy company (Men's Wearhouse).
What's a shame is (and Scott Lee alluded to this) the pool shot sequence, albeit short, was technically wrong, e.g. stick points in air after shot, "floating" (and unstable) bridge, and not hitting the rack flush.
My point is although the average player may not notice these directing "faults" it still makes pool look classy, confident, and cool.
AND THAT IS WHAT POOL NEEDS!!!

What we get is some guy who should put a marsh-mellow
