Cue ID

I was thinking possibly a custom from palmer from the late 70's/80's

I know at least one Palmer has those exact rings and points in combination with the veneers. Replaced/ damaged butt cap?

Every eye helps.

From one PD to another.

Looks to me like one of those cheap Taiwan imports from the 80s,
quite possibly with a replacemant Delrin butt cap.

More than a few guys had them reworked to look more like a USA made cue.

Tipoff is the SS joint with a brass pin - and the
lets-try-to-look-like-an-old-Palmer joint collars. I've seen a hundred of 'em.

I currently own or have owned 150+ Original Palmers and this ain't one ... My vote is Adam or Knock-off.

There is a palmer/Adam feel to the cue. The buttcap is milled like the Palmers from 75 or so, Palmer joint rings, the pin reminds me of an Adam, but those are only on there older cues. The blank, which I believe is a fullsplice, by feel and the spline of the maple on the buttcap matches up perfectly with the spline in two of the points. The screw with a washer is a new one for me, even with all the imports I've seen. What strikes me odd is that the butt is 28.25" with a standard length shaft of 29". 1/2" joint collars with a 1", I think nickel silver, joint.

I have no idea but I like it and am a sucker for many things on a cue, Pearlescent material
being one of them.

I have black and white in the shop and planning on several more colors.

I am by no means a cue IDer, but someone said Chinese.

Now I'm asking, how many Chinese cues have a wood pilot. Maybe I live a sheltered life but so far, have not seen a wood pilot on a Chinese cue.

Thats another thing I love on a cue BTW.

What about the possibility of this cue being put together from parts purchased at palmer? They did sell parts to cue makers, GS and GB being at least two of them.

I got a response from Tate, The Palmer Collector, stating that he felt this cue is a Palmer prototype made at the Adam factory. Makes sense considering the Palmer/Adam connection during the late 70's/80's.
