OMG..........Can You Believe It?......................Roger is now saying he was only trying to help Scott with his program............this is....this is......ugh! He's as bad as some dumb Senator or Congressman coming out and saying that every woman needs to have some type of trans-vaginal probe insertion every time she wants to buy birth control...........pretty stupid, lame and shameless.
Then after getting blasted by the media that same politician goes to the media the very next day and tells the nation the press got it all wrong. He was really just trying to help women see their doctors more regularly we so they could learn more about birth control............DUH.........Mr. Long, the Forum is not filled with idiots as readers and your woeful attempt to back pedal and exonerate yourself gets a big "F" for a grade. So now you want everyone to believe you were just trying to be a friend and ally to Scott.......you were more like "Et Tu Brute" trying to place the blade in Scott's back.......Hah, you got caught and so nah, nah, nah, nah.........boo hoo hoo........you folded faster than a cheap tent in gale force wind.
You got called out by your peers, and now you don't even have the brass to stick to your guns which would have earned you a little respect but now you're just another 'notorious" weasel on the Forum that tries to wiggle out of their words when they get challenged by others. If you wanted to move Scott's post to the front page, you could have done that with a positive post or a bump but instead you tried to sabatoge his thread with innuendo and in turn, Scott's enterprise.......and I might add that no one has incorrectly inferred anything from Long's posts.........he wanted to create doubts about Scott's program and prices.........but it didn't work.....it backfired on Long and now Scott's pool school looks like the really great bargain it actually is.
I only wish my shoulder was healed sufficiently from surgery so I could attend Scott's school in Fresno next month. AZers....ignore Long's blithering remarks.........you can rely on Scott's program because it works......look at the personal testimony of those that have attended...........and then read Long's posts......Sure, he was only trying to be helpful and was merely attempting to remove a splinter from Scott's back with a very sharp dagger when it "inadvertently" slipped out of his grasp and it unexpectedly plunged into Scott's back mortally wounding him.
But Hey, after all, Long said he was only trying to help Scott...........OMG....that deserves a double Duh.......DUH? What a friggin' cowardly act........doesn't have the guts to say what he means and mean what he says...........Long's creditability just fell to zero on the Forum IMO and his comments are worthless.
Okay, you want the truth, I'll give it to you.
I do not like Cocobolo Cowboy. I thought I made that pretty clear in an earlier post, but I don't want anyone to be cloudy on that fact now. I'm also pretty certain that Scott doesn't like Cocobolo Cowboy, either, judging from comments he's made in this and other threads. And I didn't like it when Cocobolo threw the first stone by asking Scott why he never posted his rates in his forum solicitations. So far, nothing but the truth here.
I thought Scott did a good job of countering Cocobolo Cowboy's loaded question by telling him that he was too cheap to pay even $5 for a ;lesson. There was nothing but the truth in that statement.
However, I did not think it was necessary for Scott to carry it one step further by mentioning that there are instructors who charge twice as much as himself. To me, that looked like Scott was trying to make himself look good by making other instructors look bad. And according to PM's I've received, others got the same impression. More truth.
Scott uses these forums for free advertising, and that's about all he uses them for. I have never seen him lend any guidance of an instructional nature here unless it is to make a statement about his pool school. I have also witnessed him jumping in quickly to recommend himself whenever someone asks if anyone knows of a good instructor in their area. Scott is also quick to chastise anyone who criticizes himself or the "SPF Family," just as he did earlier today in the Lee Brett thread. All facts.
Scott could have avoided this whole derailment if HE had told the truth earlier by admitting that he was talking about only one instructor when he mentioned that "other instructors" were charging twice as much as himself. Instead, he said he couldn't mention any names because PBIA instructors aren't allowed to badmouth each other. So, if he wasn't trying to make himself look good by making another instructor look bad, why couldn't he mention that instructor's name? (If anyone is interested in knowing that other instructor's name, just shoot me a PM and I'll give it to you. It's not badmouthing, and I'm not in with the BCA/PBIA, anyway.) More facts.
Scott once came through Phoenix and gave one of our local players a lesson in the very room where my pro shop is located. Several months later, Scott's student stopped me as I was walking by his table, and asked a question about something he was struggling with. I was able to explain what was happening in terms he could readily understand. He then said, "Wow, I just learned more in five minutes with you than I did in four hours with a master instructor!" (That may sound like a boast from me, but none of you are ever coming to Phoenix to take lessons from me anyway, so why would I want to try and solicit your business?) It's just one more fact.
Had enough honesty yet, Bavafongoul? Hold on, there's more.
I am a long-time friend of Mike Howerton, the owner of AZBilliards, and I once asked him how he felt about people using these forums for free advertising. He responded by saying that he really didn't mind as long as they were also contributing meaningful content. I have never really agreed with that because AZB is in the business of selling advertising, and advertising is what pays Mike's bills. At the very least, guidelines should be set up to keep freeloaders from trying to create forum monopolies in their given fields. That's just my very honest opinion.
Believe it or not, I have no desire to see Scott's business hurt. I have only met him once, briefly, but I get the impression that he is a hard-working and honest man. I can also tell that he loves instructing, and that he genuinely desires to see his students improve. Pool is a tough business to be in, especially during these times, and Scott doesn't need his road being made any tougher by anyone, including me. I would just like to see fairness all the way around. As someone said earlier, "It's a two-way street."
And now for one more honest opinion for you, Bavafongoul. The only cowards on these forums are the ones who hide behind goofy screen names and spout insults at others when they know their anonymity will protect them from ever being held accountable for their words. You blasted politicians (I don't really blame you for that.), but at least politicians have to provide their real identities. And as for your shoulder problem, stop using that as an excuse for not taking Scott's course. You can still learn without having to perform. But if you can't afford it, just say so. Or if you're too cheap, just admit that too. I had that same shoulder problem a few years back, but I never let it stop me from doing the things I needed to do. Maybe it's your wimpy bone that needs to be surgically removed?
There! All of my honest opinions have been revealed! Does that make you feel better?
