Earl needs to arrive to all of his matches in a clown car, a pet monkey playing a harmonica in his corner, and a straight jacket to go with all of those arm weights.

He is the closest thing I've ever seen to a 3 ring circus in the sports world. Everyone keeps comparing him to McEnroe, but John didn't disrespect his opponents like Earl does.

I don't know how much of it is contributed by his medical condition and I really don't care because if he can't control himself or take something to help then he needs to quit or be forced to quit. There is NO excuse for how he is acting.
 
It's the simple fact that the U.S. doesn't produce 5 champions. We have SVB, JA, and sometimes Earl. Hatch and Rodney aren't even pro-class anymore. It's frustrating to see them out there. Yeah, they were good a really long time ago. And don't get me wrong, they're still good players, but we have better options to choose from than this. Especially for a pressure-packed event. It's unreal to see some of the shots they miss on a brand new felted diamond. Everything is supposed to go in, and they're playing stupid.

The only reason the U.S. had 2 points is because of SVB carrying both doubles matches. Rodney dogged position almost every game and SVB had to get them back in line. It was ridiculous.

If you think the bloodbath is a result of only the break shot, you haven't been paying attention. The Americans have had poor shot making, poor position play, horrible team unity and awful sportsmanship. Team Europe doesn't suffer from any of the cancerous maladies that the Americans do.

On top of all that, the Europeans are exponentially more talented, as well. The proof is in the pudding.

Rodney may not be playing well in the Mosconi Cup, but he has played quite well this year- he won the US Open 10 ball vs. Orcollo

I'm watching, not really paying attention at work. You're correct the play on the US side has been sub-par.

I didn't pick the teams, but if i did it would be a different result.

He is always going to be this way, a lot of pool players are like Earl. His bad luck is that he is on the spotlight a lot.

The Euros are exponentially more talented at winning team based races to six.

Not one of them wouldn't be a twenty game underdog to SVB in a race to 100. Not one of them would play Johnny even ten or nine ball. The US side has many problems. Talent for the actually playing the game is not one of them.

The problem with the US is not talent. It is that they have zero leadership and are stuck with the most toxic player ever put on any team in any sport. Personally I am glad the Euro's smoked them the way have. It shines a spotlight on how screwed up US pool is. Maybe some things can be changed.
