craigslist Balabushka

its funny to me how some people get so upset and others could care less about the rules.

I do think this thread should be moved to cue and case gallery for now until the owner decides what they are doing with the cue and price.

To the owner welcome to the forum and good luck with the sale of your cue.

???? The owner has said exactly what he wants to do... he wants to sell the cue for $50,000.

This thread has pictures and an asking price... he actually did better than some senior members when they post a cue for sale.

Now that everyone knows its a Balabushka everyone will know its a Balabushka. Before Pete saw the cue, many people were "no way" and most were "I dunno" (including myself).

Both Sean and Joe Van knew it was the genuine article right from the snip. We are lucky to have them here, completely accessible and rendering honest opinions which are correct, trustworthy and for free.

Gotta love this place.

Hello everyone, I took the cue to Pete Tascarella today and he immediately knew it was authentic. He will be sending me the paperwork next week. He also helped me to remember that my brother played and was good friends with Steve Mizerak (forgive me if I spelled it wrong).

I will be selling the cue but I need to make a decision of where I am going in price. It is from my brother who was the original owner, is 100% authentic, and original. Sorry I started a blog war. I will post a copy of Pete's certification when I receive it. Thanks.

What is your brother's name?

edit - found his name in another post. I'll bet if that cue could talk it could tell some stories. Even if I didn't play pool I would find a table and hit some balls with that cue. You can say you played with a Balabushka.

Balabushka Cue

My brother's photos are posted with the detailed cue photos in the community section. I figured some will recognize him. The cue will be posted for sale along with the LOA from Pete posted when I receive it.

Balabushka Cue with COA

Happy Holidays Everyone:

OK, the cue is up for sale in the community link section along with COA attachment.

Great cue, You might want to start a thread of your own in the For Sale section.

Kevin

Apparently you are a little low on the asking price. I would probably agree with a tag of priceless.
I am always amazed that there are people out there that can, and will pay as much as $70K for a cue. I would guess that it would have to be a "money is no object" situation, and I guess I see that more in collecting a NART Ferrari, than cues.
In any case, this is certainly one of the most rare and amazing cues ever.
Best of luck to the OP on a sale. My wife wouldn't let me sell the house, so I'm out.

WOW reading the responses to this thread IMHO is like reading MAD magazine.

This cue is 100% a Balabushka, 100% a Spain forearm, and if I owned 35k in cues by any living cuemakers, they would all be for sale to buy this cue. In fact if I owned 50k in living cuemakers cues I would take 35k and then buy this cue.

big man u have 35 k in cue,i have scene them a hit with a few:eek:

I generally don't get into old cues but this one is something to behold. Full shafts , Straight after all these years, and at a players weight of 19.0 oz good lord that's a sweet cue.

Sorry for your loss, Walter was a good friend and quite the lady's man. We ran together for many years, Cue Town and Mango's were our home rooms. Thanks for the memories.

What is it worth to you

Fact...A collector of any item will pay, doesn't matter the item ( cue, fishing lures, hot wheel cars etc. )If you have a dry rotted old tire and a collector wants it, you will get the money for it.

If you have a billion you would gladly pay a million for this cue if you want it.
Unless the seller needs the cash he should hold out for the right buyer.

I have fishing lures I bought for 5.00...I have been offered from 200.00 to 1 K for them. I don't need the money so I keep them for now.
I don't have 2 of them, I have close to 5000
It's all what it is worth to the buyer.

At 70K someone will be stealing this cue right now, although you know when they play the game they are going to try and get it for peanuts.

Well you are right about one thing, what you paid for your collectible item has nothing to do with its value in the marketplace.
