Someone please help me understand trying to sell a cue online without pics!

That's really a pretty shallow, uninformed remark.

Yeah, it's pretty easy to fake 150-200 unique itrader feedbacks from legit buyers, each with multiple to 50 or more itraders themselves. Not.

Unfortunately it is and I already explained how you people can load up on their Itrader account.

Let's say you have 50 fake accounts. Selling back and forth to yourself with these accounts and give each other trade ratings. Ratings add up. May be time consuming but worth it for these thieves when they finally hit a big fish for several thousands and never to be seen again. Then have 49 more times to do it.

Sure. If they are ripping people off and still doing business here then its a crazy world. Funny how that would seem to be more possible to you than, they aren't ripping people off and that's exactly why they are still doing business here. Amazing that you can't consider that the reason guys can sell cues sight-unseen is precisely because they have proven themselves to be completely trustworthy.

Welcome to your brain

The fact that you can defend these selling practices amazes me, when we know there are huge loopholes in these practices to get scammed.

What other accounts do you have?

And the reason there are no "I was ripped off in a blind cue deal" threads is?

It should be mandatory with pictures, specifications and location of whatever you are selling!
I`m so tired of these guys who post cryptic ads for their stuff and the people commenting: Great guy, you don`t need pictures from him etc.
EVERYONE regardless of fame or itrader rating should comply to the same rules.

Nobody's defending anything. Your approach is pure hogwash. Look through everyone's itrader....suspect itraders are rather obvious. If I see somebody with just a few low-number itraders or a small group of guys doing trade deals and stuff all within their little circle and no one I know has done any biz with them, then a little caution light goes off. Buying online is caveat emptor and AZB having an active and full forum like this doesn't change the fact that buyers should always exercise caution and due diligence. The good guys here far outnumber the scum. We are turning into the spoon-fed society...do your own legwork. Geez, man. :frown: :embarrassed2:

Everyone does comply to the rules that exist. Just not the rules you are currently making up.

Well that AND

Paying strangers with PayPal funded by a credit card.

or actually I guess that is part of due diligence.

Now if you would please go to the Schon "sharp points" thread and explain things to me. I'll stay here and convince this troll that I am also you.

I don't really care if somebody is trying to sell something without any pictures.... I simply will not buy it. I am sure a lot of people here feel the same way.

What I don't understand is, every cell phone has a camera. Many of the cell cameras are actually pretty good. It is easy to move a picture file over to a PC and it is easy to post a picture on this site. So why are we having this conversation. Post pics of the cue when you are selling it!

But you have to admit its their right to lose you as a buyer if they choose to right?

Thanks

Kevin

Is your grandfather alive? Could he do it?

Absolutely. Usually if I see a thread without pics I just move on. So in a sense every time that has happened the seller is losing a potential buyer.

That's right. Its a choice the seller is making (if he is capable of loading the pics). And its the seller's choice to make and his right to make that choice. If he has a brain in his head he full well knows he is losing those buyers that won't buy sight-unseen. And in case he doesn't have a brain, some guys will post to him that they won't buy that way.

Still though, if he wants to handicap himself, limit the buyers he is reaching, and sell that way, who is he harming other than himself?

Its a shame that this has gone this far and your right about it being the sellers option to lose people as a potential buyer, but not everyone complies to the rules that exist. Sometimes its by mistake and just like everything else in the world, everyone is probably guilty of it. It seems Dean has been made the poster child but he isnt the only one. We have spoke via pm but I have never had any dealings with him, that doesnt really have anything to do with the picture debacle. The mods have warned people numerous times about posting in their own thread within 48 hours so how is everyone complying when there are about 6 posts in 6 hours in the mystery cue thread?

Nobody really, as long as the description of the cue is accurate. With that said, I would fully embrace a rule change that requires a picture of the cue. The more information the better and in this day and age we should have a picture.

Unlike craigslist, we do not have the advantage of inspecting the item before money changes hands (for the most part).

I'm not sure I know what thread you are referring to, but if I understand you correctly, I really don't get how we can hold the seller responsible for other people posting in his thread (although someone in this thread floated that as the reason Dean goes without pics which is pure conjecture and hogwash). The For Sale thread has a zillion problems, over bumping is for sure one of them, but a rule regarding pics won't solve a single thing.

Sorry if I missed your point. I'm here feel free to come again.

And what I'm saying is you are solving an imaginary problem. Find me one thread about a cue or case deal where the buyer came to the forum to complain or seek help where the sale took place in a For Sale thread without pictures.

The For Sale Forum has problems galore, but this isn't one of them.

I'd like to see all the cues and have all the details, whether I'm interested in buying or not and I have never purchased a cue without seeing it (that I can remember) but that's just my own curiosity and personal preference why make a rule for it? Who are we protecting?

And again. If AZ was interested in legislating for the "protection" of their cue buyers which rule do you think they would institute first?

1) cue pictures

or

2) satisfaction guarantee

Thanks

Kevin
