Pool tournament@Casino= Warning!!

I can't say if all Casinos are the same,,but here in Michigan. I am convinced!!

I'll get right to it.

They have HD cameras in the parking lot. I am told ,,can read the serial number off a dollar bill!! Or if you are rolling a joint on a open book,,,they can read the book!!!

A few of my friends were just recently busted. Surrounded by cops ,,out of the blue!! And were told some very precise details about what was in their truck!!
They went to jail for a few hours,,but made it back for the tournament after bonding out,,, for crumbs found.
Im not going to get into the details of what happened with them.
But after this happened,,,many people started telling these stories about these cameras!!
And I did a search on the internet and found a few stories, stating this same thing about these cameras.

The tribal police do not play about this and are in bed with the local police about it all.

:D

Wow...great to know! Good information here.

Guess I'll need to pull the curtains in my car...or----->

....if the van is a rocking...don't come a knocking.:canoodle:

You sound like you think this I wrong on the casinos part to know what is happening on their property and deal with it as they should. Maybe your buddies should have went off the property if they wanted to do something illegal. Not all the cameras have the zoom abilities that you think but a parking lot is a good spot to find them.

This is what I was warning people about. Maybe better to go off property. My god!! Is it that difficult??

Are you saying the cameras do not have the ability I suggested?? I think they do,,,and was the point of my topic.
It's not normal to have this happen everywhere you go. That makes this-----------> UNCOMMON!!!

Walmart is private property too,,as are many places. As far as that goes,,if doing something illegal,,,,driving down the road can get you busted too,, if there is a HD camera tracking you.
It may be coming,,who knows??

If I were busted for pot, or open container, or anything in the parking lot of a Casino, I'd not likely ever go back to that Casino. I think most folks would agree, and I think the Casinos know this. They want your business and don't care if you smoke dung, drink moonshine or snort DDT.

The cameras are to discourage people from breaking into cars...

That's pretty much been my experience. I don't think I've been hassled in a parking lot since a minigolf spot in LA when I was a teen. We were still allowed in after a stern warning. :p

I was saying not all the cameras have those abilities but they do have them and parking lots are a good spot to find them they need to zoom in long ways because cameras farther away. The difference between cameras at a casino and Walmart is that the casino has people watching the live feeds all the time. Like I said the casino is protecting their image they don't want the rich old people to be walking by a car with people smoking up in it the rich guy may go up the street to the casino where they crack down on that. Really who would you rather in your casino some old rich people who will spend thousands or some smoked up pool player who spends maybe hundreds

Are you stoned or something?? Read my post again when you feel better. I don't smoke,,but found it interesting that these cameras are invading what you and me do in our cars.

And I don't care whose property it is,,,

I just thought I would share this for those that don't know this is happening. Maybe I was wrong.

But it seems every post on this forum ,,there is somebody that knows more than me!!!

Not at the moment. I will be later though. Its legal here

Sorry my bad. I thought you were somehow involved with the people who got busted. Either way, it shouldn't come as a big surprise when somebody chooses to partake in a casino parking lot and gets busted for it lol

Do you really think Casinos want the image of busting customers for pot?

And this may surprise you, but older folks smoke pot, wealthy people smoke pot, and gamblers smoke pot. Also, entertainers, cops, politicians, Casino owners..shall I go on?

I wouldn't be surprised if half of all Americans over fifteen have smoked pot. Surveys put the number somewhat lower, but of course, most tokers do not admit it.

Hmmm?? Then I guess you can dis regard this thread. You might get away with it at some or maybe even most Casinos. But I'm telling you,,,I know where there is one that you will NOT!!
And Im not talking about breaking into cars. There is a big difference from that and them looking through your vehicle as you sit in it.
I don't smoke ,but I still don't the whole thought of them spying on people like this.

Maybe they know there's a amateur pool tournament going on,,and factor that in. IDK??

We had a camera in the back of our club that recorded ALL license plates

Thanks CJ, I may try this tonight.

I have a friend that goes to the pool room here who used to be a DEA agent. He said they could fly 1500 - 2000 feet above your vehicle in a chopper and read a cigarette pack on your dash.....while you're going 70 mph.

We had a camera in the back of our club that recorded ALL license plates that came or went 24 hours a day.....casinos have the same technology and probably more. They will give this information to law enforcement on occasion, and will help police look for certain criminals by sharing this info......this isn't a standard practice, but definitely happens if they are looking for someone that has been identified at the casino.....or in the area.

Let's say you have two guys at a game table. They don't look at each other, they don't speak to each other. One guy loses small amounts, the other guy wins big. They leave the building separately but then get into the same car and drive away together. I would guess they were somehow working together, wouldn't you?

Here's an interesting article on surveillance in casinos. They don't talk about the parking lot but I'm sure they've got it covered.

For the record, I think pot should be legal but it currently isn't in most places. Don't openly break the law (however stupid the law may be) and then be surprised when you get caught. And yes, I know it was not you who did it.

Yes, as a matter of fact they DO want the image of busting people for pot, or ANY other people that partake in ANY other ILLEGAL activity on THEIR property.
We have (3) Casinos within an hours drive of here, (2) of which we NEVER go to for this exact type of thing; they have shady people and shady illegal activities going on ALL the time, in and around them.. The other we (used to) freely go to almost every weekend, which just doesn't condone that sort of thing...
It's an 'image' is reality, not just perception thing. A business has to try and uphold a safe environment.. I throw people out and let them back in if I see or hear of anything like that going on..

beware

regardless of private property-installed cameras, Big Brother has been watching you, is watching you, and will be watching you........one way or another.....

LMAO!!! Yep,,,and did you notice I have not mentioned the name of the Casino in question?? I don't want my door getting broke down in the middle of the night.

For those comparing legality,,,placement,,or whatever. I'm not questioning any of that,,one way or the other.

Im just telling you,,,this is happening and could happen to you.

It made me think back from years past if I ever did anything while in their parking lot that was questionable??
Because until just recently,,I had no idea these cameras were watching so close.

Maybe they are bored and decide to read your texts as you sit in your car!! lol

Go do a search on the internet. There are similar things listed. And not from the same Casino I am referring to. So I know there is more than one that have busted people in this manner.
And they don't care if you have a medical mary card. It's not in their tribal laws!!! (at least that is what I got from it)

Go look for yourself!! Maybe I am wrong about that? But the HD cameras are there.

I can only imagine some of the things they have watched people do, in the privacy of their own vehicle,,,,,and had no idea anyone was watching them!!

Screw Big Brother!!!!! Let him watch everything I am doing, I am not concerned about going to the Bighouse, I don't think I break the law that bad most of the time anyway..:grin-square:

Was this at the just completed MI BCAPL State tournament at Soaring Eagle Casino?

We've run about 10 tournaments there in the past few years and it seems about every other tournament they're busting someone in the parking garage. A few years ago they got 3-4 guys off of a 5 person team.

Doesn't(or didn't) Michigan have one of the most strict laws in the country about that stuff?

You can get in legal trouble by doing illegal stuff.

The only right /wrong that matters is the law.

Hmmm?? Maybe you should start warning the players that they are being,,"Spied on"" while they are in the parking lot.
I have never heard of any place that is like this. With cameras powerful enough to tell what kind of cigarette you are smoking. Or as you open the glove box,,they are looking for something illegal.

I think that is pushing it a bit too far.
When I heard the story I wasn't jumping on the wagon,,about these cameras. But I did find information to back it up. And it's a bit shocking to me. Maybe it's just me that thinks this is odd.

LOL. You are correct. But in that case,,,you are never really in complete privacy,,or most of your life . How often do you have 4 walls all the way around you??

And besides,,there is probably a camera that can see through them too.lol
