Show us your HOME ROOMS !!

Room is a work in progress, planning for a TV room and bar but this is it now.

I just picked this table up for a few hundred dollars. Came with a 2"1/8 nine and snooker balls sets, a bridge, 7 cues that aren't warped and still have some tip left, long cue and bridge and a score board. I played snooker in high school and really loved those days during lunch hour and periods off.
It's a 6x12 table, 5 piece slate, which was in perfect shape and very thick. Had it moved and professional installed. Which ended up costing 4 times what I bought it for.

Not the cleanest looking table, one day I may repaint the sides and legs. The installer said the cloth could be replaced but could be ok for a few years. Though I did notice some pin holes near the head pockets where the slate shows through.
I figure next year after I get some practice that I get it recovered.

I figure its from 1960's, and probably similar to the one I played all those year back in high school. Thinking I should have gotten a 5x10 table, I didn't plan on the room being for a table this big, it does work except there is one spot if shooting out of the corner pocket that is tight.

So lighting. Wife made the choice. There are pot lights on 4 corners and the 5 light track light (60w bulbs) . Think I could raise them up a bit to be more even. I'll post some shots with pot lights on and off with just the track lights and ask what you guys think.

Beautiful table and view though I think the lighting was a bad choice for that big of a table. it looks like the corners are awful dark. A lot of shadows.

The last 2 photos are with just the pool table lights and pot lights off. I agree, needs improvement. The shades really focus the light. If switch the shades to more open it would improve that and raise the lights up to spread out the intensity. Wife is stuck on the shades.

All the other photos have the pot lights on, does it make it worse or tolerable?

I agree it's the shades that our the problem. Lol tell your wife she can pick out new ones but it has to have style and function lol

Great room, great table. I love the look of the lights but the functionality of them is sub par. Maybe raise them about 1 foot and see if you get better light coverage.

BTW- I wish I had the problem of lighting a 12ft table!

Seriously! Lol I would have to have a 2nd table. Playing on that would constitute cruel and unusual punishment!

jumper;

your home and room look wonderful.

the GC table is a bEaSt !!! and one heck of a find for a few hundred bucks.

as has been said, your lighting isn't ideal but is def good enough to get some practice in. the suggestion to raise them up a foot or so to create better lighting may help, give it a shot.

enjoy your aquasition; you're a lucky man!

best,
brian kc

Congratulations on a wonderful table!!

Is it common to have a cue caddy in the event you cannot find your ball after shooting? Does he also hold the pin on long shots?

Thanks. I'll be using all these comments to persuade the wife. First thing will be to raise the lights.

Tell her I said she has great taste! (and I mean the room, not you! Just kidding!)

I like the contemporary look of the room and the lights, but for me play-ability must come first. Form should follow function.

Wasn't trying to beat you up :) love love love everything else about the room and table!

np, I would frankly have been worried had no one said anything about it.

lol, it does make for a lot of bridge shots, think I need to buy a few more bridges because of the walk around the table to get it. I figure the size of the table and snooker pockets will improve my play on smaller tables.

 I agree

Here is our "Arcade" The popcorn machine has been moved and none of the games interfere with pool playing.

Nice room you have there, Jumper. If raising the lights doesn`t reduce the hot spots, try different bulbs. I would leave the pot lights on. If you are ever coming north to where you can swim with the polar bears, drop me a line. Also, if you are looking for some memorabilia for your room, let me know.
