I vote most players are nits!

sounds like you need all the money you can get. just stop gambling and buy your kids some more diapers.

Kids and family are taking care of. Any $ I'm betting is fun money that I should have spent on lessons.

In my experience, only 31.7% of people are nits

I'd be interested in seeing the data you've collected.

Come to Des Moines and you can play the Oil man in 1 pocket.

You guys realize I am not even a short stop never less a pro. Have some common sense. I am person who is trying to get better and use gambling as a way to test my practicing. I recently played a local pro Steve houshe getting spotted 10-6 race to 5 for $500 and lost 5-0.

You create 10 threads to whine AND bark about not getting played and you have a lot of replies trying to give you action...ffs man make a game. I am sorry in your area there isn't sht for gambling, but if you REALLY want to play you may have to travel a bit. The oil man isn't a pro, he is a solid 1 pocket player.

I'll play anyone. What's your complaint here? I make games all the time. Just trying to stir up some new ones. You expect me to go on the road with a 1 month old.? I work 6 nights and 5 days plus do a business on the side. People that want to play me have to come here. Especially other states? Wtf. I'm almost done with this site. Find someone else actively looking for action who works full time and actually see there family (a little bit). I live near San Fran. Des Moines is $1800 miles was, Los Angeles is. 350. Who's gonna drive. 700 miles to play a $500 set? Not me. When Ike was here I played him, when dennis was here I played him. I even gave Shane a $400 free roll to play me. I played Carlo race to 4 for $100 even up too.

Nevermind...if you can't figure out why creating a bunch of threads whining isn't going to help you get action than so be it.

If you are un willing to travel due to a family (I completely respect that), then there are better ways to get action then how you are doing it for your location...but you have your methods so good luck.

When you gamble (my opinion) you separate the players from the "want to be players". I've seen countless people that can play, pretty good, but bet 20 a game they go blind. I think gambling on pool is almost a must and *I* am truly an armature player.

Here it is in a nutshell. A nit don't seem themselves as a nit. They see it as "playing safe". Nothing wrong with that at all. HOWEVER, some nits play really good and take stabs at people like me who will lose a lot of money. So I DO NOT play nits if I can help it.

Gambling takes discipline. You have to figure odds and believe it or not math is involved. For example: If you're playing for $20 a game, then you MUST know that's a 40 dollar turn around in your pocket if you lose. Playing for $50 is a $100 dollar turn around and so on. The discipline part is knowing when to stop, raise the bet, etc. In all honestly, I think gambling on pool is an art that takes a lot of practice. You have to have heart. Now some people will say, "show me a player with heart and I'll show you a broke player". This isn't true for every gambler out there.

How about this, play in a ring games for $50 a pop. If you have 4 people playing including you then you're getting 3 to 1 on the money. I LOVE ring games with people my speed and I LOVE THOSE ODDS (oh yea math is involved). I could write a book on gambling, if I could write. EVEN if they are trying to trap you, it's very hard to over come the odds. TRUST ME on this. YES, YES, YES, someone has to lose, so not everyone over comes the odds. This is where heart, discipline, knowing you have the advantaged comes into play. I know $50 a pop MIGHT seem high but I did it in the 80's early 90's and $50 dollars meant more then than it does now. Hope this helps all those reading and wanting to learn to gamble.

Steve is a roofer, not a pro, and Efren beat him twice last year at the Markulis Memorial Tournament giving him 10/6 and then 10/5. He is a good player, but still a working man.

So you only play one pocket?
If you would entertain the idea of 9,10, or 8 ball I'd look you up next time I'm on a hauling trip that takes me through CA.
