Congrats to the Minnesota Outlaws, WPBL Season One Champions

Well, they are certainly no Robin Hoods. They must be enjoying the riches while the rest of the pool world struggles to survive. Germany must be proud.

Billiard Congress of America recognizes players of all nationalities. About damn time Germany does something for pool on a global scale.

Do you want them to donate their winnings to American players?

Congrats guys well deserved win.

I think the country of Germany isn't doing much to help professional pool on a global scale. The United States could use some help. What little resources we do have are shared with our international brethren of pool players.

Are American players not allowed to play in German events? Wasnt it Canadian resources shared with international players that this thread is about?

Actually, Americans are not allowed to compete in some European events, unlike our now-defunct BCA Open and U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship.

And remember that it's Canadian resources on American soil.

And please don't get me started on how the BB has affected American pool within the last year.

Next?

I can't believe Jesse missed the last week of leagues to play in this. To each his own.:)

How many Americans play in the events that they are allowed?

Would it have been better if bb was set up in Canada and the players came here to play? so not even restaurants or hotels in the US got any money?

Its a fair arguement to say bb could/should have done things better but at the end of the day money did get in the players pockets and thats a good thing right?

That is not the issue. The issue is that Germany doesn't do anything to contribute to pool on a global scale.

Are we really going to turn this thread into how German players are screwing over pool? Take a step back, everyone take a breath, and then congratulate some courteous and professional champions on a nice win.

Actually, the problems the European Union suffers from today could be blamed on Germany's not accepting the responsibility of doing something about the looming deflation facing Europe as a whole. Germany is flourishing while Greece and other countries struggle. In fact, the European Union just might be on the verge of their own Great Depression any day now, while Germany stands by and watches.

Just like the pool world, Germany seems to come out on top, yet they don't put very much effort into contributions, as much as they could -- and should.

Cute name, "Minnesota Outlaws," consisting of two Germans.

We imported Germany to Minnesota a long time ago:

They contribute champions like the two on the winning team!!

What does the US do to contribute?
Do any players even play internationally?

This is enough of this discussion for me it will never end with you, it's never any players fault no matter what happens it's all the promotors and now it is the Germans fault. Maybe you should focus all your arguing time into organizing a pro tour with lots of sponsors so American players can make some money. Maybe you could call it "it's the BCA's fault" 10 ball tour.

Have a good rest of the day Jam

Your name suits you. Hot petro and full of it. You have a nice rest of the day too. :)

Jam I have never insulted you why would you insult me?

I did not insult you, but your comment about me starting my own "It's the BCA's Fault Tour" was an insult. You took the time to "LOL" a post that called me a groupie not so long ago. This ain't our first dance, PETROBOY.

I recall laughing in a thread but never made refernce to it being about you being a "pool groupie" That was just your take on it. if you feel that my idea of a tour name was an insult I am sorry I was poking fun at you saying that all the time I never meant it to insult you, Maybe you should start a tour though you seem to have all the answers.

I also apologize if you feel insulted. :)

You did quote another member's post, a one liner, that labeled me a vulgar name. You had one thing to say about it: "LOL." :(

I've paid my dues, PETROBOY. Pool doesn't have quite the same attraction for me as it once did. If I was younger, I might try something like that, creating a regional tour of sorts. In fact, I'd be good at it. I used to run tournaments when I was probably your age.

Instead, I'm working on a documentary about a pool player, which I've put many years of effort into. That's the only thing left for me to finish, and then you can stick a fork in me. :grin-square:

I will still continue, however, to have strong opinions about current state of pool in the United States. We can agree to disagree, okay? ;)

Germany should stand by and watch and then purchase assets on the cheap as the welfare states of the European Union crumble around them. A stable currency goes a long way. The last time Greece was relevant was about 400BC.

However, as for pool I don't get the Germany this, America that,, or the Euros thing... What government is involved in professional pool? It is corporations that are internationalists

The US government is not, nor should they be in the loop... corporately Simonis is a Belgium company and Diamond is based in the US both support professional pool.

The thing is ... there is NO DEMAND for professional pool in North America, as far as I can tell. Asia with a growing middle class might be the next hot spot especially as other social and economic centers of gravity move in that direction over the next half of this century.

So congrats to the Minnesota by way of Germany and Canada as the first BB Champ

Sure Jam and I dont always disagree with your ideas fyi, And I really never quoted any comment about you, I laughed that was all no quote. just a random laugh.

Well, not exactly. But if you will listen I will tell you why all Americans should be watching Europe.

Germany is prosperous, yep. But Italy, France, Spain, Greece and all of the ones that aren't are because of their crazy socialist programs.

Germany has offered support once before, and then when that was all spent then Greece and the others in the EU, wanted more. Germany said yes, but only AFTER some austerity programs were implemented. Greece said no, we will spend it how we see fit, and Germany declined offering help.

Kinda reminds me of the democrats here. Spend tons of other folk’s money, blame the folks who earned it, and then call them greedy when they won’t give them more. I would bet any amount of money you voted for Obama. When you have 50% of the folks on the government dole, it’s tough to vote out what’s bad for the country. But, if the people of the USA would just look at Europe it is as plain as the nose on your face!

JAM, sometimes I don't understand why you think it is American to hate the Pinoys, and the Europeans. They are better than us, we don't need to bring them down, we need to do what we need to get better and beat them.

Ugh.

Ken

That's because they (German team) shoot the right ball in the right pocket. At least 2 on the team, and probably all three practiced together. The all American team came into the finals the same way they treat the MC. If I was getting paid for playing a new game that my good play can get me some nice bonus money, I'd be practicing the game every chance I got. Congrats to Ralf, Toastie, and Engel. Johnnyt

It was good that at least one American got a taste of victory its no coincidence that the majority German team won
