So I would hink the majority of people haven't spent any time studying the small differences in what makes a ball go on the break. So they would just be randomly choosing a ball which to me sounds about as skillfull as picking a lottery number.

I would probobly just pick the wing ball every break
 
Calling a ball out of a 15 ball stack is almost impossible to do, much less consistently. It would force people to safety break and make the game very long IMO.

This can be done fairly easily using the Magic Rack. I have made the wing ball over and over in the same pocket on the break with the one ball on the spot. I have never tried it with the 9-ball on the spot, like I think they do in the Mosconi Cup.

I guess I dont get it. This trend to make pool harder and harder just doesnt make sense. Who wants to watch 'pros' not run racks, not make spreads, and duck,duck,duck! Much less amature players having to play by 'pro' rules. Its absurd. How many players do you know that can take the break and the first shot in 9 or 10 ball ( not the ghost ) and run out 50% of the time? Or 40%, or 30%? Basicly, nobody. So why make the game harder. For 'pros' , they can do whatever they want, I dont care. But I dont want to have to play by 'pro' rules.....and I dont for my cash!
3 7/8 pockets ( BB ), 4 in pockets ( hardtimes )...where does it end?
 
If you had to call a ball on the break it would change the break into a 14.1-like break. The objective would be to hook your opponent from the one ball. Pros would figure out how to do it and we've have a game that's even more boring.
