League fees need to go up. Nothing has stayed the same for 30 yrs why should weekly
fees? I know many will disagree. What is your opinion?

That's not a good reason to change anything IMO. What's wrong, LO's not making enough money?

Prices can always be increased, but don't be surprised if you lose customers over it, especially for the reason listed. JMO.

My opinion is that you should be doing a dance if you found something that costs the same today as it did 30 years ago!

:happydance:

And what were league fees 30 years ago? And for what league?

5 to 7 dollars a week for vnea music service and great amusement
as well as aba.

League oprtrs not making to much money. Problem is no money for trnmnts.

I KNOW league isnt about making money, but the # are a joke. I think
A little more each week, from everyone, goes a long way.

Opinions?

As long as some of the guys I play with keep agonizing for 10-15 minutes over a shot in a game that we are only paying 1/3 of $2 a week for, I'm not a big fan of an increase. Imagine how long they would take if there was more on the line!

What percentage comes back to the players in you league? If the league or LO needs to make more money. They need to expand the league. If you want to spend more money will at league. Spend it on the bar or pool hall that supports the league. They provide the music and amusement. Not the league.

Yep, same as what I'm paying now for USAPL, 7 a match.

Although since I'm also paying for my son and we play in 2 leagues where we sometimes play more than one match, plus his junior league I spend about $50 a week not counting food/drinks just on leagues.

The league still manages to put a bunch of people to Vegas as well as hold a couple of free player parties on those $7 fees.

Our APA division is $35 per team, per night. There are eight teams for 8-ball on Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday. That's $840 in 3 days. There are four teams for 9-ball on Wednesday, that's an additional $140. $980 in 4 days of league play. That's roughly $4,000 a month in league revenue. Subtract out league operator payment and operation cost, you still have a large amount of revenue.

There is no problem with "league fees", there are loads of problems with the leagues themselves.

Mind you! There are zero payouts for divisional play.

I dont know % for LO.
I support league venues- food and drinks - practice games and TIPS
for those who wait on us. Teams dont like to play us as we do spank dat ..s
Room owners and waitstaff appreciate us.

More revenue earmarked for trnmnts or nationals is my desire.

I would be fine w sending a lottery team as well as rewarding a winning team.

Got that right. Our local APA LO lives out of state; does little or no work(room owner does it all); now has grand larceny total of $24000 kept for himself which used to be returned to players(not counting his built in profit); for the same minuscule Vegas gaft of $599 and one eighth of three rooms. Give'm more money?... for what?

Wow you guys play in some cheap leagues. The leagues in Calgary charge $100+ per a team per a night for the top divisions.

I could see going to 10 per player. 5 man team =50 a week.

How many teams? How many weeks season?

and? lol my league fee's aren't the same as they were 10 years let alone 30

Yeah, I assume it differs in various areas. Ours is 11, which I'm fine with.
No objection to your thinking OP... the cost of everything rises and a buck or two won't kill anyone.

Bit confused about your original post. Are you asking permission to raise fees? Or trying to justify a fee increase? Is there a reason you want an increase?

my apa fees are cheaper than when i played bcapl 6 -7 years ago.

my napa fee is the same as bcapl was.

Our APA league is $40 per team. I don't think that's bad at all for the amount of fun that is had. Our LO creates some of the best tournaments in the country and the players get some kick back too, for winning.

I would say no. When dealing with pool leagues, my opinion has always been: the less of your money going into the league equates to less of your money that is available for someone to steal (particularly when the league is handicapped).
