I am deleting threads here

I have spent the last year trying to get everyone to obey the anti-bumping rules on this forum. My efforts have been a total waste of time.

So the warnings are over. If you over-bump, your thread will disappear. Obey the rules and you have no problem. Violate them and you go away.

I am deleting threads at the moment and will continue to do so at random times. So take a chance or obey the rules. If the thread goes away in the middle of a deal that is just too bad.

If you over-bump you risk losing your thread.

Sometimes it's not the sellers fault. Tire kickers and wanna buyers think it's cool to offer their support of the sale or comment on the items beauty.

On the watch forums the only person allowed to post on the f/s threads is the seller. That would clean up a lot of nonsense.

Good Luck everyone.......

Thank you Jerry.. As of late alot of people have been taking advantage of this as well as double threads for same item!!

he seems to be referring to all the people bumping their OWN threads every couple hours lately on top of the normal early bumping. I could be wrong but I dont think he is talking about when people post on someone elses thread. no way to stop that, plus it adds to the sale.

Jerry, are you doing this manually? I'm sure there are solutions out there for auto deleting triggered by over bumping.

Yes, today it is those who bump their own threads. I will work on Shill Bumps later.

This forum loses value when a few folks feel they have the right to keep their posts on the first page. I tried sending out nice notes to bumpers and many obeyed but many did not. So I am out of patience.

I am certain I will get many PM's saying I removed threads that were not bumped. Before you send me that PM figure out how much you want to bet before I show you the threads. Minimum bet is $50.

Just a thought but what about turning the old raffle section into a auction section . It would eliminate the auctions in the forsale section which by all counts are a gross violation of the rules.

GREAT .... Agree 100% ...

Thank you Jerry.
Some people think that if they are here since the beginning, it gives them the right to bump and get away with it.

The sellers that wish to distinguish themselves by following the rules should put a note in their listing to send all inquiries by PM. They could follow that up with a request to send all comments about how nice the cue is to the same place.. JMO!!!

So you are going to start letting the moderators moderate, and not try and be the forum police now?

From my perspective, there aren't that many people overly bumping their own posts . It's the flocks of fanboys that bump more threads. And the multiple threads by one person is worse than bumping could be any day. Because we know , logging in to see the first 10 threads all by the same person is awesome.

I've noticed a lot of over bumping I have even tried too tell a few the rules no one seems too care so something has too be done

There is an option with VBulletin, to only allow posts every X amount of hours. It's been done on other forums.

If you are selling an item and someone asks you a question 30 min after you start the thread, if you answer the question, is this considered a bump?

Thanks,
JK
