Because that is what it is. Goodness knows why you American pool players keep getting it wrong
I've come to the conclusion it's because they enjoy it.

Thaig, those are Wales in your Avatar aren't they?
Ronnie O'Sullivan scored a perfect run out of 147 to win the Welsh Open Snooker tournament in the U.K. today. Amazingly he literally shot the light out in the final deciding game with a display and level of shooting ability never seen before. Congratulations to Ronnie O'Sullivan destined to be the all time greatest snooker player of all time!
Lol.
Stephen Hendry must be a little sore this morning, whatever he says. The maximum record is the first of the triple crown to go - the centuries total is a formality but does Ronnie have two more world's in him?
On this form, and given the lack of competition, you'd have to say it's entirely possibly.
It is unbelievable, and truthfully, i do not care if he is taking drugs or not, as the media claims; still top performance ever. It is like running 13 packs or 10 balls if not much harder. His opponent Ding has had his 147 in 2013 too.
Which media are claiming Ronnie is taking drugs?
O'Sullivan would have had ten plus world titles by now if he'd kept his head.

Who is Ronnie O'Sullivan? Never heard of him. Does he play bonus ball?
It's an amazing accomplishment, but surely you aren't actually comparing it to running a 13 pack in 10 ball?
Any rare accomplishments in pool could be equated to rare happenings in snooker; what would you compare 147 to in pool? 150 & out in 14.1, break and run in one pocket? 10 packs of 9 ball?

A 147 is meaningless achievement in terms of match play. Once a frame is won then the pressure is right off the player. In fact, top professionals will not even be thinking about a 147 or a century UNTIL the frame is won. It is only at the point that the frame is won and they realise that they have taken all blacks with the reds they start to consider the next bit.
A 147 therefore has no comparison in pool because it is a completely risk free bet for the player attempting it.

Are you the Syd Barrett from Pink Floyd?
Semih Sayginar too surely?
I am welling to bet that you have never shot a ball on a snooker table? to know how difficult it is to make the black by itself two or three times in a row especially if you have a cut angle? we are talking 15 times in a row, and run all the colors.
