25K+ Tournaments Left in The U.S?

Turning Stone and maybe US Open 9 Ball is all I can think of.

Won't be long until we see the end of big (relative term) added money open events completely. They make no sense for anyone. Player or promoter.

That's the only two I can come up with too, and I agree few big tournaments hardly ever work. Johnnyt

Monetary gain is not the only way to measure success in a tournament. It's a shame pool (all pool) is so money oriented.

For those that are trying to make a living from it has to be monetary gain. I do understand your point though. Johnnyt

People gotta eat.

Jobs are good for steady income to cover expenses of this nature apparently.

Let us pretend though, for the sake of argument, that instead of there being 10x £25,000 payout tournaments there were in fact 1,000.

So let's add that all together and then divide by the average annual gross salary (plus £10,000 for annual expenses)...

That gives a total of 500 people out of the gazilion playing pool a living from tournament wins.

Hell, let's multiply it by 1,000 giving us a total of 10,000 such tournaments..

Notwithstanding you'd have them all over the shop every single day of the week and night, it would still only give 5,000 people a genuine living.

About time people wised up to reality and accepted that - if you are playing pool to make a living, then God help you...

People with jobs play like me... People who wont to win tournaments, can't work jobs.

US Open 9ball
Derby City 9ball
Derby City 1 pocket
Derby City Banks
Derby City bigfoot
Turning Stone
Super Billiards Expo

I'm sure there are a few more. Four Bears?

So there are 3 more LEFT this year. Johnnyt

The CSI 10 ball invitational this summer at the Rio probably will have 25K in the purse.

If you want to count calcuttas towards the 25K, then the white diamonds, four bears, beloit high rollers and a couple other tourneys could also be added.

Well, luckily it doesn't effect me. I have a lot of tournaments and money to win in the NYC area. Good thing I'm a banger.

Pool needs to be enjoyed first - payouts should come second - golf at the amateur level does not have a money frenzy about it
