Why gambling in pool is stupid!

I have played Robbie lyng several times for several years. We posted 1k the last time we played and I made a game of race to 25 for 2k and the ****er high rolls me saying he will only play for 5k-10k. ****. I should torch him and he is using the $ as a stall tactic. Why can't Detroit backers live in California. End if my rant!

That shit is frustrating, but it comes with the territory...you know that.
Seems like you got a good handle on the pool, you will outlast this and have another battle soon.

Not what I expected given the title of this thread. But the title is still true. Really good players don't call it gambling, I think they call it collecting

In the same boat; Not for that kind of cheese though.

Lesser players complain because I don't want to play them and the higher players complain because I don't want to post $1,000 for a short set. It's a never ending cycle.

There have always been players who wanted a lock but it really seems to have gotten crazy these days.

Barking4action seems to be working for you, others should try it.
Now you have to bark4backersinCali or bark2thebank to make this score><

Guys that try to high roll you don't really want to play you IMO.

Most of the time you're right, they really don't want the game but there is a small segment that will attempt you to play higher than you normally do to remove you from your comfort zone. It works quite well actually.

Don't take this the wrong way but I was wondering, do you play for money because:

A- You need the money
B- You want to make a name for yourself as a gambler
C- It's fun and you like the action
D- none of my business

If the answer is A, I would say your going about it all wrong and take up another profession.

If the answer is B, carry on.

If however your answer is C you got me scratching my head. Maybe I have read you wrong but you don't seem to be having any fun doing this so why bother?

If the answer is D- fair enough. But I thought I would ask anyhow.

Best of luck to you and I hope you find a game (match up) you like.

That segment of people is small because not too many guys can bet up the better player and still win, for any amount of $$$
There is always that one guy who can bet it up and really step up for the cash, and there are those great players who dog it for the cash, but overall the better player is going to win.
For instance if I bet up a better player I would probably lose my ass.

My question is what do you do with the chicken after you get it?
Is "the chicken" a metaphor for cash, or do you work for KFC><

Gambling involves betting, whether in pools or not, where the odds of winning are artificially created so that those who win do so at the expense of those who lose is not good.

I almost never allow that to happen because my wife doesn't allow me to have that much gamble.:frown:

Have you ever thought about making that last line your signature so you don't have to type it out every single time you post?

Perhaps this is a better explanation, anytime you can take a player out of their comfort zone whether it be disrupting their rhythm or getting them to jack the bet to a level their not comfortable playing at, taking less weight than they need or giving more weight than they should you edge the odds in your favor, but I'm sure you're aware of that, it's not how well you play as much as how well you match up. The chicken? I spend it of course 😃

Actually it is my signature, I don't type it out. Perhaps the phone app I use makes it seem that way as I can't see anyone else's sig here in tapatalk, can you enlighten me why this is this way?
