Did The JB vs Lou Match Settle The Great Aiming Debate Once & For All?

Here is a question. Both Shuff and Stevie are great players, which I met two years ago in New Town, and I spent a lot of time watching both shoot. This was before Brandon learned Pro One, and Stevie was promoting it there.

Since they both have converted to Pro One are they winning more now than they did before they changed? These are players who already understand the game, so I would assume if something helps them pocket balls better than their previous system, and their position play stayed the same, they would win more.

It is always interesting to see the angles that are used to try and discredit CTE PRO ONE.
You aim with your brain so it 's all the same. NOT!!

Stevie has a long list of impressive wins since he began using PRO ONE.
Stevie has not been quite so active as a player the last 2 years. Brandon Shuff has only had partial training to this point. I have had to reschedule with him twice and am hoping to see him soon. He is looking to further his training.
WHY NOT LOOK at PHIL BURFORD AND HIS WINS SINCE HE BEGAN USING PRO ONE? See what this young champ has to say!
I could go on but will not......

The arguments are quite silly and frankly there is nothing that has to be proven anymore.

I must say though some of the angles taken on here remind me of my 9 year old trying to negotiate a later bedtime. He knows nothing he says will change it but he tries every night :D

And there lies the problem. I did not try to discredit. I asked a simple question, and you become defensive. I gave you a chance to PROVE it has improved their game, yet you came back with an excuse that Stevie has not been as active. You could say, I don't keep track of that kind of information for Stevie or Brandon, but it is a great question.

Instead you YELL Phil Buford. Evidently the Phil only improved his pocketing ability and has won at a higher percent then he did before, at least according to you, and nothing else has improved over this time. I did not pick Phil, as I have seen him play maybe a couple of times, and have seen the other two play in person, and on various streams.

Maybe you should realize people ask questions for information they aren't always trying to discredit you. You really know how to turn someone off.

What I don't comprehend is why all the haters? Why are all these people so fervent about a system they think doesn't work? I don't get that. Do they think Stan is paying Stevie, Brandon and Phil tens of thousands of dollars to falsely promote his system? How could you make sense of that? And then you have his own Son Landon and his success along with Gerry Williams consistently dominating the ghost, with video proof, in 9 ball and 10 ball. And you also have the countless videos of Stan's own performance doing different amazing things.

Stan is essentially trying to give the pool world something special. He'll be lucky to average $1 per hour with his DVD sales.

The ONLY thing I can come up with is you have people who feel more comfortable dissing something they know they are lazy to learn versus their own shortcomings. "Stan, I got your DVD on Saturday and I'm not beating the ghost on Monday like Gerry Williams, your system doesn't work as advertised." It's the same damn reason so many people are stuck in mediocrity for their entire life. If it isn't easy, if I can't have instant gratification, it must be something else other than me.

robsnotes4u, I've taken several lessons from Stevie and gotten to know him fairly well. The first thing that Stevie will tell you is he had to relearn his game because he had learned to play with a crooked stroke. He didn't just learn CTE/Pro One without any changes. He works tirelessly on perfecting his straight stroke these days. But he will also tell you, emphatically I might add, that CTE/Pro One has improved his game SIGNIFICANTLY. In fact, he'll go on and on and on about it. He laments the fact that CTE/Pro One wasn't available to him when he was younger. As Stan pointed out, Stevie has reduced his playing schedule substantially as he is working on developing a career that will earn him a good living.

I would venture to say yes, they are "winning more", otherwise they would not switch to something new. That said, ones measurement of success is going to depend on their current capability. For instance if a C player picks up Pro One, their overall playing improvement will probably be quite dramatic over the course of a year or two. A pro like Stevie or Brandon, who already play at very high levels, will likely see a smaller change such as picking up their averages by a ball or two. That would be huge in pro level play. That doesn't mean a Pro can't have dramatic changes too. But like I say, they already play at high levels so playing better is walking a thinner margin than say, a C player.

Tony the Tiger needs to be quoted for me to see his comments.

If it is truly so easy then grace us with a video of you doing something similar.

Gerry <-- Not holding his breath.

Three things;

1. I don't have access to a table in my house and would get lynched if I took a pair of curtains to my pool hall, and rightfully so.

2. The tables in said hall do not have crators for pockets. (a disgrace a player of your ability plays with such).

3. I cannot be arsed with ridiculous parlour tricks.

Rather than set up easy three quarter or half ball shots, why don't you set up the balls so you have to do extremely thin cuts? The system should be able to cope with that, shouldn't it?

Anon Trolls don't do videos. They don't in fact do anything except seek attention. If they weren't repulsive losers in real life, and could actually play, they wouldn't be anon trolls.

Disgusting AND repulsive? Wow, you got it baaad.

Where's YOUR video, again?

Never going to happen. I wonder why? ;)

Sounds like he should have worked on straightening his stroke when he was younger to me...

But you concentrate on aiming. Aiming is the American disease, obviously - not poor cueing.

Thinner cuts do work, however I have not tested the very thin 1/8 ball cuts with a curtain. I may try that later. It should go without saying that as a cut gets thinner, the margin of error quickly gets smaller. With or with out the curtain, and with or without CTE, thinner cuts are always more difficult than thicker ones. Math and geometry easily prove that. For instance, on a typical 30 degree cut you might have a margin of error as wide as 2 or 3 ticks (pockets twice as wide as the balls.) On a thinner cut that margin of error might be one tick, and on very thin cuts virtually no margin of error.

I think you are confusing Landon Shuffett with Brandon Shuff. I don't think Brandon has been converted to Pro One.

Thanks, his trembling in his back hand does have to make it tough. Talked to him a lot in New Town, ND. Funny, and great to have beers with. Also a tremendous asset to Stan, represents very well.

Firstly, I doubt you've given me much credit from day one, and, secondly, in what way?

The fact that you think it is so easy to shoot beyond a curtain. Since aiming is soooo easy, and since you can't feasibly put up a curtain at the local room, there is still NO reason for you not putting up a video of you doing the same WITHOUT the curtain. But, we won't even get a video of you shooting into open pockets, will we?

By the way, if you do post a video, showing your drivers license picture with your name on it to show it is you actually doing the shooting would of course be required.

You see, you discredit yourself by never providing any actual facts, only your opinion which doesn't even have any videos with it to show that you are at least an accomplished player that would have some idea of what they were talking about.

Lou, if I had had enough cash then I would have stacked it. But you asking me to bet more right when I was going into 18 hour days was not enough time to draw out more cash.

I will ask you for a rematch when I am ready. I will ask that the entire amount be placed in escrow well before the match.

There will be no months of barking.

Either you will accept when I am ready or you will not. If not then that's ok. You do whatever makes you feel comfortable. But any person who says or thinks that I was afraid of your game before or after the match is 100% wrong.

I had a great time. You played great. I have a lot of respect for you. My head was not all there. I would love the opportunity to try again someday for an amount we can agree on.

John, really? The $500 game side bet was set almost from the get-go. You were the one who said, you'd "stack it" at the venue AND accept all the side bets with a $30K cap. You weaseled on everything but the base bet.

Easy to say from someone who was getting staked.
