Did The JB vs Lou Match Settle The Great Aiming Debate Once & For All?

Guess Lou is done being classy.

There is absolutely nothing unclassy about pointing out that John did not follow through on his bets. He had *months* to get the dough together.

Well how much should someone's pride cost them. Despite everything said leading up to the match. He did play a known one pocket player for $10000. I think that's a lot of money for two players of your skill levels to put up. The match was played. You won. Be happy with that. Stay classy. Calling out someone for running their mouth on emotion isn't classy. Lou what's the most you ever played for before this match. Even though the match was close. You were probably always the favorite based on skill and experience levels. Regardless of where the rail birds hearts were. Their brains knew you were a favorite. Be happy any lesser player was willing to play you even for that amount.

Would Lou play a stronger player for 10K like JB did?

He is being as classy as john was prior to the match. If I am Lou I put my foot to the base of his neck and not let him breathe. Like john did FIRST.

I am really fed up with jbs fan base thar prior to the match egged john on and now that he lost feels that any gloating by Lou is now uncalled for.

John is a pool enthusiast. Lou is a pool player. Pretty sure that's why they played one pocket. I think Lou would have won any other game based on shooting ability easily. He has good fundamentals. Just think more people were rooting for the underdog. Rather than rooting for or against either player. not sure gloating is appropriate when you were the favorite.

The fact that you think it is so easy to shoot beyond a curtain. Since aiming is soooo easy, and since you can't feasibly put up a curtain at the local room, there is still NO reason for you not putting up a video of you doing the same WITHOUT the curtain. But, we won't even get a video of you shooting into open pockets, will we?

By the way, if you do post a video, showing your drivers license picture with your name on it to show it is you actually doing the shooting would of course be required.

You see, you discredit yourself by never providing any actual facts, only your opinion which doesn't even have any videos with it to show that you are at least an accomplished player that would have some idea of what they were talking about.

Lol. How's that 10 ball ghost video coming along? Shouldn't be hard to post a good score on that diddy table of yours, in your own home. ;)

All this commotion and nothing was proven, and now the woofing starts back up omg. Well here is what I'd do if I were John Barton. If I felt I absolutely had to bet 30k to prove my point I'd save up 5k first. Then I'd have the best snooker coach in China coach me for about 6 monts, working on alignment, stroke etc EVERY day or at least several times a week. Fundamentals only, no bank systems or anything of that nature, at least until the fundamentals were in order. He'd set up shots of known cut angle 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 etc and stand in the direct line of the shot observing my fundamentals and video taping and a camera on the side as well. When these balls are all being made at all speeds, at all distances, with zero steering and a smooth stroke, then it might be time to challenge Mr. Figueroa. It makes financial sense to make this investment to secure a possible 25k profit later on. 25k is not peanuts. That's actually quite a lot of money to most people. Besides, the time sacrificed to work on the stroke will be money well spent later as it will give more enjoyment of the game.

Aiming with steering and a crooked stroke is extremely unreliable. Sure, you will make some shots, but you will miss others and there is no way for your brain to figure out why, since your cue is no longer on the stroking line. Valuable feedback is being lost, and there is no easy way to make adjustments. Why do all the snooker pros stay down and cue on a straight line? Because the cue delivery is what matters to them. They all know how to aim, as I suspect do most of us, but when there is close to zero margin of error it is the delivery of the cue that breaks down. When they do make a mistake, having the cue on the stroke line tells them what went wrong, and they can avoid it on their next shot.

This was one long $10k advertising campaign. Nothing more, nothing less.

To spend time practicing a stroke - and it being successful - would have destroyed Barton's entire belief system, and undermined his own argument. In short, he didn't have the minerals to concentrate on stroke.

Irrelevant and nonsense. Barton barked and bailed. He should be driven off the board for this, and you lot have a go at Lou for it?:rolleyes:

As ever, sheer madness from the aiming clique.

I am going to stay classy. Anyone who's been around the boards for any length of time knows that, for me, I am currently behaving like the Dali Lama :-)

So sick of this shit.....

To all of the Pro1, CTE and 90/90 advocates:

Some people do NOT want to learn your system. Get over it. There are a bunch of CTE advocates that want to call anyone that doesn't use this system an idiot. There are some non-CTE users that call anyone who uses a similar system an idiot.

News flash - one man's trash is another man's treasure. If ghost ball is your thing, more power to you. If CTE floats your boat, good on you. I truly don't care what system you use to pocket a ball. The simple fact THAT you're trying to pocket a ball impresses me. And if you're trying to improve, I don't care which system, if any system, you use. Too many people think they're coming across as experts, and they're truly coming across as condescending assholes. Self righteous assholes who believe that their way is the only way to pocket a ball. (this goes for both camps, btw.)

As far as the Lou/John debate, what was settled is that Lou is a better pool player. John is a better promoter. And even in defeat, John can't let go of the fact that someone doesn't want to learn CTE.

What the hell are you babbling about?

No Pro One user is calling any non users idiots just for not using the system. It's the fact that the non users continually, to this day, say the system doesn't work without offering one ounce of evidence to prove their point.

It would be one thing if someone said they weren't interested in the system. Nothing wrong with that, but Pro One users are going to get defensive when people question the validity of the system, and can't back it up.
