On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

Great job here in Saratoga.........

Looks like the tournaments are gonna be good.

The tables are great. My phone won't work here but they actually have internet service.

The people in this town are also very nice.

Can't wait to get started tonight at 7:00.

I think we're really up there in altitude also. Doesn't seem to make any difference to me.

Got to go and play some pool.....................

Gene,

You mention a lot that someone thinks they are this or that eye dominant, and you tell them what eye dominant they really are.

A person from back East took a lesson from you, and you told them they were 100% certain they were right eye dominant and even argued with them that you knew you were right. Fast forward to them going to a Neuro-Ophthalmologist where they talk to them about vision and eye dominance. Long story short, they said what you are doing with people as far as telling their eye dominance is incorrect.

Any idea why on your posts so many times you are the right one and they are wrong? Or why you think you are the right one.

I let the player see with their own eyes which is dominant. I do not argue with them.

If they can't see what eye is dominant i keep working with them until we get it right and they can positively see it for themselves. .

When I used the pointing and circle tests about 4 years ago i was wrong allot. But usually got it right before it was over. it was a struggle. Because if I can't identify the dominant eye correctly I can't help the player aim better.

I've had players though say they were the other eye after I left. When we meet up again and work with it a little bit they can see for certain that we were right the first time. They would do the circle or pointing test ad convince themselves otherwise.
Again those tests just don't work for everyone.

I've had players go to their eye doctor and ask them after my lesson and they said that the other eye was dominant. The player would check back with me and get down on the shot and the cue is almost right under the eye that we had figured out with the lesson. was dominant.

THE player could now see beyond a shadow of a doubt what eye was dominant.

50% flat out don't find the correct dominant eye with the pointing test or circle test.

I had a lady a couple of nights ago doing a lesson and she was very determined that she was right eye dominant. So I let her think that even though I had doubts.

When she was cutting balls to the left she was right on. To the right the shots were too thick. Classic Left eye dominant. Everyone is the same that is left eye dominant and everyone is the same that is right eye dominant. The degree of the dominance is the only thing that is in question. Only then can I show the player to aim better than ever before.

Tommy, if you understood what I know you would know that it is hard for me to screw this up right now.

In fact i did give a pool lesson to an eye doctor in Ill. Thought he was right eyed but put the stick right under the left all the time. i just had him close the right eye and he could see the left was lined right up. The right jumped way off.

His answer was, That's the darndest thing.

get ahold of this person and have them give me a call. 715-563-8712.

We could go around all day long with my dad can beat up your dad.

I even have people tell me that some people don't have a dominant eye.

Until i find one that doesn't I'm going to have to believe that everyone does have one.

Not just have some person or even a doctor tell me different.

I got it right. have them give me a call...................

He said that he said that he said. Kind of rediculous. I can't agree or disagree with this at all.

Have this person call me and I will help him make sure which eye is his pool shooting dominant eye right while he is at a table.

Gene, if teaching doesn't work for you, I have a lot of balloons that need to be blown up, and with your abundance of hot air, I think you would be a Perfect Fit for the job

I dont know Gene nor anything he teaches; other than what I read on here but if it were up to me id think if someone can't beat Gene on the table maybe, just maybe they might wanna listen to what he's got to say. At least not discredit him till u can beat him???

You don't have a clue..........

If you understood what i teach you would understand.

Thinking and knowing are 2 different things.

I know..............

Played 10 ball first night in Saratoga.........

It was single elim.

Won my first match.

Played Rodney Morris my second. 4th game I didn't get out when i should of. aagainst a player like ERodney that's not a good thing.

Saratogo starts tomorrow at 9:00 AM.

This game is pretty challenging.

There are 6 stripes and 6 solids and they are numbered and then one black ball.

Whatever you make on the break you have. Then you need to run out either the stripes or the solids in order and then pocket the black ball.

The biggest challenge is for some reason they changed all the colors of the balls. The 7 ball is green and so forth. You really have to study them and look at the numbers..

A saftey is pretty good in this game and it doesn't do you any good to run out if you can't get out. Your opponent can keep on playing you safe.

It will be allot of fun tomorrow.

If you have something real to say, just say it.

I'm one of those whose Ophthalmologist says I'm right eye dominant. I've known that for my whole life.

But now I shoot left eye dominant and am potting balls better because of it.

Thanks, Gene,

Hey, Gene does not come down to where you work, and complain about too much salt on the fries... so back off dork :)

And some folks even change :) I'm right eye dominant, But old lefty wants in on the action, and without lefty there, it is not the right "picture". My only theory is that playing baseball for 50 years, batting right handed my left eye got a better glimpse of the pitcher because I did not turn my head enough (bad habit that nobody corrected) and have been over compensating ever since in everything, and the brain now likes what it likes.

Wow, even your eyes take turns dominating, how libertarian of them.

I can't even count the times this has happened Mr Jeff......

Thank you for stepping up.

This happens here and there.

I think that some of these eyes guys don't know that the eye dominance test doesn't work well for many people.

And then again the vision crosses from being far away to getting up close like down on a shot.

In the preshot it looks just fine with either eye being dominant but when you get down on a shot the dominant eye has to be in the dominant position or the shot really looks like crap.

Most 3's in the leagues have these eyes so far off that it's hard to believe. Once taught how to get the dominant eye there and then tweak it to the most dominant position the league won't let them be 3's for too long.

I work with hard cold facts when i figure things out. I just don't here this or that and try to tell everyone that is the way it is.

If it ain't true and I havn't researched it on my own with 100's of people I don't teach it or preach it.

Thanks guys for stepping up.

But if they don't know they don't know.

When you say DR people just think of it as gospel , what they say.

But they are human and that is why they call it practicing medicine.

I'm going to have surgery on my neck soon. I want to make sure that it is someone that has had allot of practice. ;)

Neat little story to tell..............

I met a young man named Don Clements while i was in Denver.

I talked to him about Perfect Aim and he would have loved to do a lesson but he told me he was a little short on money right now. then he told me he was an Iraq vet.

I told him that I'd give a discount on the lesson. He still said it wouldn't work right now.

Don told me he was going to The Wyoming Open and was hoping to make a little money there.

I told him he needed to have me show him this before he went and he might win the darn thing. So i told him I'd give him the complete lesson with the DVD and he could just send me the money whenever he could.

He was all over that for sure. A friend of his that has learned perfect Aim had told him minutes before this how much it would help him.

Don was in one of the lower divisions so anything that would jump him up real quick would be huge and I told him that.

After the lesson 2 days ago I met him in Wyoming and he said he's making everything.
I wished him good luck.

He came up to me inbetween his matches to let me know how well he was doing.

When I left the community center he was playing in the finals. The other guy had to beat him twice. Don was ahead 5-2 in a race to 6.

I'm pretty sure he'll pull this one out for sure.

This is what is so rewarding about what I teach. The results are almost immediate.

And there is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone shooting so much better and winning something like this right away.

I hope to see Don tomorrow but I think his shooting is all over after tonight.

If you read this Don, way to go there kid.

Way to take it down.......................

My fun is over........

Make sure the surgeon understands which is his dominant eye and has Perfect Aim. :)

There comes a point where the fun and the pain are kind of a tossup.

If you can't sleep because of the pain your body just wn't heal.

I'm heading back to Wisconsin today. Don't know if I can make it in one shot.

My neck feels like i got a knife stuck in it and little pieces of wood jammed into it.

Pool will have to take a back burner for awhile.

I pushed it as far as i could. I just wanted to take one more trip before my surgery.

Now I'm going to see if I can speed it up. Hope I can.

Today is one of the saddest days of my life because i know that it is over for now.

If there is a way I will be back............

One man a little car and the road, tucking his tail and running home...........

Hate to tell ya (and you can believe it or not), but just because somebody plays well doesn't mean that they particularly know what they're talking about...and in many "pro player" cases, they have no idea what they're talking about. The smart ones defer to people who are educated professional instructors.
